Plan to attend Fall Justice Conference with guest speaker Curtis Acosta

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Center for Peace and Justice welcomes Curtis Acosta to campus on Monday, Oct. 15, from 7 to 8 p.m. in Canyon Commons.

Acosta is an assistant professor in Language and Culture in Education at the University of Arizona South, and founder of Acosta Latino Learning Partnership and Acosta Educational Partnership. He is a teacher who fought to keep his outlawed ethnic studies classes alive. He will focus on the recent federal court victory and speak about his journey and the importance of Mexican-American heritage studies.

The event is free and open to the community. Please contact Rebecca Hernandez (rhernandez@georgefox.edu) if you have any questions.
