Politics department hosts two guest speakers next week
The campus community is invited to a free Constitution Day address, “The Bible and the American Constitutional Tradition,” by guest speaker Daniel L. Dreisbach this Monday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in Hoover 105.
Dreisbach is a professor in the School of Public Affairs at American University. He earned a doctor of philosophy degree from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar, and a juris doctor degree from the University of Virginia. He has authored or edited 10 books, including, most recently, Reading the Bible with the Founding Fathers.
Also next week, a second talk, “Liberty, License, and Virtuous Self-Government in John Milton’s Writings,†will be presented by David Urban, an English professor from Calvin College, on Friday, Sept. 21, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Hoover 105. Urban has written and edited numerous works about Milton.
