Looking for a church home? Church lifts are available

Friday, August 31st, 2018

Are you looking for a church home while you are at George Fox? The Office for Spiritual Life has this webpage to help you get connected with area churches. There will also be a Church Fair on the quad during dinner on Serve Day, Sept. 12, so you can get acquainted with pastors and ministry opportunities.

Starting this weekend, a number of area churches are sending September shuttles to our campus to make it easy for you to get to church. The following churches have worked with the spiritual life office and have agreed to ensure your safety by adhering to these university stipulations: two representatives in the vehicle, a sign clearly marking the vehicle, and pick-up and drop-off before and after services.

Though these churches are trusted community partners, we ask you to use discretion in your church search and travel. Please contact spirituallife@georgefox.edu or call 503.554.2320 with any questions!

George Fox Football Tickets for Employees

Thursday, August 30th, 2018

George Fox’s football team is proud to welcome you back to another exciting season of Bruin football. Over the last four seasons, the Bruins have led the way in home attendance in the Northwest Conference.

Coming into the 2018 season, the program had two players named to the D3football.com preseason All-American Team, the most of any NWC school. Come out and show your spirit as the Bruins host Howard Payne University at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, in their home opener.

All George Fox employees are entitled to free entry into the uncovered general admission bleachers at home football games when they show their George Fox ID at the gate. Children under 10 are also admitted for free. Additional tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance here.

Employees who are interested in purchasing reserved season tickets in the covered grandstands can do so here.

If you have questions, please contact Mckenna Tillotson at mtillotson@georgefox.edu.

Two important items to note:

  • Anyone entering the building will be required to have a valid George Fox University ID card; there will be no exceptions.
  • All employees, spouses, dependents, students and guests will be required to have a completed liability and release form on file. This form will be live on MyGFU soon, and information will be sent out with a link once the form is available.

We are excited to share this beautiful new facility with the campus community! Contact Rob Simpson, director of campus recreation (simpsonr@georgefox.edu) or Keith Schneider, assistant director of campus recreation (kschneid@georgefox.edu) with any questions.
