Graphic designer David Carson speaks at Art Talk this Monday

The university community is invited to Art Talk this Monday, Nov. 6, as graphic designer David Carson speaks from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Chehalem Cultural Center (415 E. Sheridan St.).

Carson is an American graphic designer, art director and surfer. He is best known for his innovative magazine design and use of experimental typography. He was the art director for the magazine Ray Gun, in which he employed much of the typographic and layout style for which he is known. In particular, his widely imitated aesthetic defined the so-called “grunge typography” era.

There will be food and drink at the talk, as well as a question-and-answer time.
