National expert on ending sexual violence speaks at Portland Center

All employees are invited to come hear special guest John Foubert speak on two important topics: “How Pornography Harms” and “Our Responsibility to Help End Sexual Violence.”

Foubert, a professor of higher education and student affairs administration at Oklahoma State University, will be on the Newberg campus and Portland Center on Tuesday, Oct. 4, and Wednesday, Oct. 5, speaking on these important topics. Following are sessions for faculty, staff and administrators.

How Pornography Harms: A Conversation with Faculty, Staff and Administrators

  • Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2-3 p.m. in Stevens Center 207 (Newberg campus)

Our Responsibility to Help End Sexual Violence: A Conversation with Faculty, Staff and Administrators

  • Wednesday, Oct. 5, 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Roberts Center 117 (Newberg campus)
  • Wednesday, Oct. 5, 3:45-4:45 p.m. in Portland Center 155 (also open to graduate and DPS students)

Foubert has written several books and articles on these topics and is a sought-after speaker and consultant to colleges across the nation and the military. He makes frequent appearances on CNN and NPR, and is cited regularly in news outlets like the Huffington Post, The New York Times and U.S. News & World Report. He has testified before Congress and briefed the White House and the Pentagon about how to end sexual violence.
