Print Services’ upcoming copy paper policy changes

Monday, June 15th, 2015

On July 1, Print Services is changing the way departments order paper. When ordering 20# white paper, either by the case or by the ream, departments will no longer be required to include a chart of accounts number when ordering. This is due to the fact 20# bond white is part of the copy fleet program. Therefore, as long as you are ordering 20# bond white for your copier machine, no chart of accounts number is needed.

In the event you are ordering specialty paper, which is anything other than 20# bond white, your department chart of accounts number will be required (even if the paper will be run through the copy machine, as it is not part of the copier fleet program). This change will be effective July 1.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Richard Silver at rsilver@georgefox.edu or 503-554-2551.

Rob Westervelt speaks on branding at June 23 event

Monday, June 15th, 2015

What are the secrets to unlocking a powerful brand in the marketplace? Rob Westervelt, executive vice president of enrollment and marketing at George Fox, will speak on the subject of branding at the Tuesday, June 23, Newberg meeting of the Christian Chamber of Commerce of the Northwest. The meeting runs from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Windrose Conference Center, 809 W. First St. The cost is a suggested $5 donation.

Four years ago, Westervelt helped the school build a brand that has seen its net revenues grow 21 percent during a time when most universities in George Fox’s category were experiencing significant declines. As part of the presentation, Westervelt will share insights into understanding how brands are developed and destroyed. His presentation aims to help those attending improve their company’s bottom line.

Westervelt’s expertise in brand development can be seen throughout Oregon through George Fox’s “Be Known” campaign and the development of the university’s football brand. He has a passion for working with business leaders to help them understand the powerful connections between business analytics, marketing and branding.

For more information, go to the Chamber’s website, cccnw.net, or call 503-928-8354.

Be mindful of construction when moving about campus

Sunday, June 7th, 2015

Fencing is now up around the construction site for the new dining hall. Students and staff will find that the fencing disturbs the typical north/south campus pedestrian flow, and that pedestrians now need to go around the east side of the Villa Academic Complex in order to move up and down the east side of campus.

Additionally, there are gates on both ends of the job site; these are for construction personnel with protective equipment to enter only. Please join us in helping ensure the job site is safe and secure.

Questions? Contact Ted Allen at tallen@georgefox.edu or ext. 2161.
