Internship Opportunities

Tutorials for online student resources
“Radio show” type Q&A podcasts

Interns will be responsible for project scope, departmental coordination, and resources for implementation.

Call for November Time Sheets

If you have not already done so, please complete, check and sign your November time sheet (staff) or time off report (administrators), and send it to your supervisor for signature. These forms can be found at: http://www.georgefox.edu/offices/hr/forms.html

Please send it to HR at Box 6108 this week. If your supervisor is not available to sign, please send a copy to HR and keep the original until it has been signed. Thank you. 

Nursing Giving Tree

For the second year, the George Fox Student Nurses’ Association is sponsoring a Giving Tree to assist a family in need. The family is a father, mother (four months pregnant) and 2 daughters, ages 5 and 7.

Please stop by the Giving Tree on the second floor of Hoover and select an ornament.  Please return your wrapped gift, with the ornament attached, to Hoover 215 by Dec. 12.

Student Photography Exhibit at Chapters

A photography show featuring George Fox student work will be on display at Chapters Bookstore in Newberg for the month of December. 

The “First Friday” show opening will be 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7.  Prints are for sale and make great Christmas presents. Contact Anita Opazo for info.

Memorial Service for Cara Moran – Monday, Dec. 3 at 4:00 p.m.

The memorial service for Cara Moran will be held in Woodmar Auditorium on Monday, December 3 at 4:00 p.m.

After the service a reception will be held in the EHS Atrium.

The Sports Hall of Fame class of 2008 includes Nancy Rissmiller for basketball and track and field, Adolphus Onua for track and field, John Smith for track and field, the 1980 women’s track and field team, former baseball coach Pat Bailey, and Tom Hewitt for meritorious service. Tickets for the ceremonies are $25 for adults and $12 for children age 12 and under. Contact the department of athletics at ext. 2910 for tickets or additional information.

Managing the load: Teaching, Research, Service

Join Paul Chamberlain, chair of the Personnel Committee, to hear how the committee reviews teaching, research, and service activities when considering promotion and tenure files. Time will be available for discussion about ways to effectively manage the three sometimes-competing realms of faculty responsibility.
