Urban Outreach is in need of students or staff who are willing to drive personal vehicles on Sundays for our work with HomePDX. This is a ministry in which we build relationship with our friends who live outdoors, and requires a consistent group of drivers who can bring students to downtown Portland each week and join us in this ministry.
The time commitment is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The more Sundays you are available, the better, but even one Sunday is better than none. If you are certified to drive a personal vehicle or willing to become certified, and would like to join us in this ministry, please contact us at UrbanOutreachGFU@gmail.com.

International Chapel begins again Thursday, Jan. 12, and will continue each Thursday.
International Chapel is open to all students and is designed to have an international flavor. Its purpose is to help students understand God in a personal way, so our speakers share about a time in their lives when they found God clearly involved. Some have spoken on how they came to faith in Christ, or how God helped them in a time of crisis.
This week, Carol Van Wagner will speak on “Trusting God in Difficult Times.” She will share about her faith journey and challenge us to know that God is trustworthy – and that we can turn to him in times of need.
Carol’s life took a dramatic turn when, at age 27, just months after the birth of her son, she was suddenly widowed. Two years later she was off to Senegal, West Africa, as a missionary, along with her 3-year-old. After 15 years of service, she moved to California and taught special education until retirement, returning to Oregon, the place she’s always called home.
International Chapel is held at the International Center/Cultural House and begins at 5:30 p.m. with a simple meal, followed by our program, which begins at 6 p.m. with a 20- to 25-minute talk by our speaker. A five-minute Q&A time and 10-minute small-group discussion follows, and we end in small-group prayer at 7 p.m.
Chapel credit will be available.

The Portland Writing Center offers one-on-one writing assistance free of charge to George Fox graduate and Department of Professional Studies students. Our consultants are trained to empower adult students to become better writers, not merely edit their papers for them.
We offer assistance in many areas, including initial brainstorming, organization, clarity, grammar, word choice, and APA, Turabian, and MLA formatting. At the PWC, you now have the choice of a face-to-face, Zoom video conference, or email consultation.
For a Zoom consultation, be sure to download Zoom to your laptop or computer before your appointment – a one-time free and easy download that is available at this link. Once you have confirmed that you would like a Zoom appointment, we will include a link on our Google calendar that will connect you to your consultant at the scheduled time.
To schedule an appointment, click here to access the PWC Google calendar. For more information, contact the Portland Writing Center consultants at wc@georgefox.edu or visit our website at wc.georgefox.edu.
