Need a new employee photo? Swing by Crisman Crossing on Sept. 6

August 30th, 2017

Attention Newberg campus employees: University photographer Sarah Small will be at the Crisman Crossing bridge for a scheduled photo shoot on Wednesday, Sept. 6, between 10 a.m. and noon.

If your employee photo on the university website is in need of updating, this is your chance to get it done! Not sure if you need a retake? If your existing photo is more than two years old, is poorly lit, is out of focus, and/or has a gray, brown or black background, it’s time for an update.

No appointment is necessary, and each photo subject will be done in only a minute or two. Solid, neutral clothing colors are recommended.

Questions? Feel free to contact Sarah at ssmall@georgefox.edu.

Want to add some fun to your schedule? Consider piano lessons

August 30th, 2017

The music department offers classes in learning how to play the piano! If this is something you’ve wanted to do but didn’t have the time, consider enrolling in MUSI 135 section A or B.

Section A is for beginners (no previous experience necessary); section B is for students who may have taken lessons but it’s been some time ago and you’d like to brush up. These two sections are meant for non-music majors.

The class is offered at one credit (good for an elective, too). There are still a few openings in both sections, so enroll today!

Questions? Contact Kenn Willson at kwillson@georgefox.edu.

99W lot now open for commuters

August 30th, 2017

Great news, commuters! The commuter-only lot on 99W is now open for your use! Even better, it is only two blocks from the quad and the Stevens Center, and is much closer than the Le Shana lot. For your safety, please cross 99W only in a marked crosswalk either at Meridian Street or River Street.

There is only one entry point, and it is on the northeast corner of the lot. If coming from Dundee, you will need to turn left from 99W right before the giant flagpole and then make a quick left turn into the lot. For those coming from Sherwood, as soon as you pass the flagpole where the road splits, watch for the left-hand turn into the lot.
