Are you interested in participating in tough conversations around race, faith and diversity? Are you in the midst of understanding your own racial/cultural identity?

The Intercultural Resource Center invites you to participate in our unique leadership program that will encourage growth, relationship and cultural awareness. This unique student leadership opportunity is for students who are seeking to be culturally engaged and who have a desire to see change take place on campus. In addition to training with your peers on a weekly basis, students involved in the program will be attending the SCORR (Student Congress of Racial Reconciliation Conference) in the month of February, hosted at Biola University.

Guest speaker visits campus Nov. 8 to share about abortion and pro-life movement

The Students for Life Club is excited to host guest speaker Liberty Pike, who works for Oregon Right to Life, on Wednesday, Nov. 8. She will be addressing the issue of abortion and the depth and importance of the pro-life cause. She will also be talking about how to love those who have been affected by abortion and what our actions should be to balance grace and truth together.

All are welcome to the event, and we hope to bring a light to a topic that is so easily pushed into the darkness and never talked about.

All invited to hear Brian Snider’s presentation on AI this Monday

The university community is invited to join the Science and Religion Club for a special presentation at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in Canyon Commons 102. Computer science professor Brian Snider will give a short talk about artificial intelligence technologies, followed by a discussion of how these technologies might be considered in light of Christian understandings of the world.

There will be free junk food, and elective chapel credit is available for students!

Hey everyone! This week in Coast to Coast swing dance we will have a spooky Halloween theme. Come dress up in a Halloween costume (or don’t … that’s fine, too) and come to have fun. All levels of dancers are  welcome. We hope to see you all there for some spooky fun.

Kaiser is bringing flu shot clinic to campus on Nov. 3

Kaiser is bringing its “Getaflushot” clinic to the Newberg campus! Shots will be available from 11:40 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. (note new time) on Friday, Nov. 3, in the Klages Center’s Room 231 (by the Bruin Store).

Employees, spouses and children (ages 18 or over) are also welcome. There is no cost for Kaiser members; just show up! If you are not a Kaiser member, “Getaflushot” bills most major insurance, including Regence (be sure to bring your ID card with you).
