Memorial service for R. Dale Orkney set for April 14 on campus

The university community is invited to a memorial service for former faculty member R. Dale Orkney on Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. in Lemmons 8. A reception will follow in the EHS atrium.

Orkney began at George Fox in 1963 and for 40 years helped direct the school’s science program. He was granted faculty emeritus in 1998.

The Students for Life Club is sponsoring a panel on open adoption with panelists Jere Witherspoon, Joe Thouvenel and Emily-Alena Elder at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 19, in Hoover 103. Are all welcome to join us!

Turnitin services temporarily unavailable on Saturday, March 17

Turnitin services will be temporarily unavailable during a scheduled maintenance update on Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Assignments with Turnitin enabled, instructors are encouraged to modify assignment submission due dates to fall outside of the window. All other FoxTALE services will operate as usual. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Registration for the 2017 summer online term at George Fox is now open! Space is limited to 20 students per class, and sections are filling up quickly (though all currently have room for more students).

All online courses are offered at 50 percent off tuition, a huge savings, and are taught by experienced George Fox professors. Courses include topics in art history, biology, math, music, physics, sociology, BIBL 100 Bible Survey, and more! Check out the options at this link.

Speed Networking event is tonight

Looking for an ideal networking opportunity? Join us for a free special event, Speed Networking, from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight (Thursday) in the Chehalem Cultural Center ballroom (415 E. Sheridan St., in Newberg). Although admission is free, you still need to register.

Bring your business cards! Students, alumni and professionals will have opportunities to create connections and learn about a variety of fields at this speed and social networking event. Business-appropriate attire is recommended. Appetizers and water will be served.

All invited to open worship time each Thursday in Hoover 250
