A new art exhibition, titled “Turnabout”, is coming to Minthorne Gallery! This exhibition, featuring work from Iranian artist Soheila Azadi, will begin with an artist talk at the Chehalem Art Center on Monday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m., followed by a reception in the Minthorne Gallery at 7 p.m.
The exhibition will be available for viewing until Thursday, Dec. 5.
“Turnabout”, inspired by the artist’s experience growing up Muslim in Iran, aims to blur gender binaries. Azadi uses different media to challenge ways in which gender and religion intersect.
Azadi is an interdisciplinary visual artist, writer, educator, and a mother based in Portland and Iran. Her use of fabric in her works is deployed critically and sensually to amplify customs that serve to classify, separate, oppress, and potentially / unknowingly liberates those obfuscated by such a tradition.

Students in an entrepreneurship class are trying to develop a parking monitoring system that commuters could view before coming to campus. This system would utilize Google Nest cameras to enable students to have a view of the parking lot before they arrive.
The goal of this service is to minimize the amount of time students spend looking for spots and minimize parking offenses. We would love for commuters to fill out this quick survey so that we can best meet your needs and make it as useful as we can for you.
Questions? Contact Kylie Smith at smithk17@georgefox.edu.
