Today is “Wednesday Friends-Day”! One of our hopes for this week is simply to start a conversation about giving and its impact on our students. Do you have questions? Stop into the Bruin Den between 2 and 4 p.m. to chat with Lindsey Coates and get your questions answered.
You can get involved in our giving campaign by telling a coworker about all you’ve learned this week regarding giving and thriving. Feeling inspired by your conversation? Join in the privilege of supporting our students through a financial gift by clicking here.
Also, be sure to mark your calendars and join us this Friday, Nov. 8, for our closing ceremonies in the Stevens atrium from 3 to 4 p.m. We will have gourmet popcorn and some fall beverages, along with a short program at 3:15 p.m. to share what we have accomplished. Everyone is invited!
Questions? Contact Lindsey Coates at ldoran@georgefox.edu.

Plant Services is happy to announce the return of campus-wide indoor recycling! Over the next two months, all of the Newberg campus dumpsters will be transitioned over to Waste Management Northwest, which includes the return of recycling bins in the garbage enclosures. In addition, our team will be distributing the indoor blue recycling containers for office and dorm room use.
Please keep in mind:
- Trash cannot be mixed with recycling. Any recycling bin containing trash will go to the landfill and will not be recycled. In addition, the university will be charged a contamination fee every time a recycling load must be treated as garbage.
- All recycled items must be clean and dry.
- Clean plastic bottles, jugs and tubs are recyclable, as are clean empty tin, aluminum and steel cans.
- Clean paper, magazines and newspaper can be recycled, as well as clean flattened cardboard.
- Any item that has been contaminated with a substance (e.g. the consumable has soaked into the material, such as grease in a pizza box or coffee in a takeout cup) should be thrown away as garbage.
For the most up-to-date campus recycling information, see this webpage. Questions? Contact Dixie Downey at ddowney@georgefox.edu.

Our group has played every Sunday this semester and invite you to come play before the holidays! You can also check us out online.

The Wineskin is extending its deadline for submissions! The theme for this semester will be IDENTITY. However, there is no need to be bound by the theme – just send us your best poems, stories, essays and artwork.
The editors are open to a wide range of styles and subject matter, but we are particularly looking for work that pushes boundaries and surprises us with its artistic approach and perspective of the world.
Please submit all poetry, prose, photography, and artwork to gfuwineskin@gmail.com. Our submission guidelines are as follows:
- Poetry and prose manuscripts must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document in Times New Roman with a 12-point font. Title your pieces and remove your name from the document.
- Limit all prose to 1,000 words and send no more than five poems per submission.
- For artwork, files should be named with the title of your piece, followed by your name. Remove all watermarks from your work.
Submissions close on Friday, Nov. 8. Questions? Contact Kiale Palpant at kpalpant16@georgefox.edu.

Students in an entrepreneurship class are trying to develop a parking monitoring system that commuters could view before coming to campus. This system would utilize Google Nest cameras to enable students to have a view of the parking lot before they arrive.
The goal of this service is to minimize the amount of time students spend looking for spots and minimize parking offenses. We would love for commuters to fill out this quick survey so that we can best meet your needs and make it as useful as we can for you.
Questions? Contact Kylie Smith at smithk17@georgefox.edu.
Disclaimer: These surveys are student generated and are not to be associated with any official research conducted by faculty and staff at George Fox University. Any views or opinions presented in these surveys are solely those of the students and do not represent those of George Fox University. The distribution of these surveys is a service provided to George Fox University students as they prepare their research required by the curriculum. Students are required to have department approval.
