Calling all students! The university’s marketing communications office will be filming a commercial at an upcoming job fair on campus, and we need your help.
We are looking for students willing to wear business suits for a segment to be shot between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, in Canyon Commons. You will be filmed shaking hands, talking together, and interacting with professors and other adults. The first 10 to sign up will receive a $25 gift card.
There is no need for audio, so no pressure there! We just want to capture photos and B-roll footage to go with a voiceover script. If interested, sign up here. We have five listed for every half hour, but there is actually no limit; we’d love to have as many as we can get!
Feel free to contact Vanessa Spier at vspier@georgefox.edu if you have any questions.

A few reminders for the revised curriculum proposal process:
- Any curricular change intended for the 2025-26 academic year must be initiated by Friday, Sept. 27, 2024. The initiate form simply asks proposers to answer five brief questions, which are then sent to their dean/program director for approval of the idea.
- After approval is given, the curriculum clerk (during the month of October) will work with the proposer to develop and finalize the full curriculum proposal document for review by their division curriculum committee based on the desired curriculum change.
- Complete proposals (for any curricular change) should be emailed to curriculum@georgefox.edu.
- Proposals will be considered by division curriculum committees in the order they are received starting in mid-September.
A link to the initiate form can be found here or on the Curriculum Council website.
Questions about the curriculum process can be emailed to curriculum@georgefox.edu.

Make sure to continue making space in your schedule to keep serving others in deep and meaningful ways after Serve Day!
FPNO (Foster Parents Night Out) and KiDO (Kids Day Out) are monthly respite-care events where student volunteers can serve not only kids but their parents and caregivers by providing a safe and fun space while their parents/caregivers get some time to recuperate.
In order to volunteer in this meaningful way, we need students to commit to getting trained, background-checked, and commit to consistency of presence for these “Little Bruins” throughout the school year.
Volunteers can apply by filling out this form. Also, plan to come to our “National Care for Kids Day” dinner and training event from 6 to 8 p.m. this Thursday, Sept. 19, in Hoover 105.
This is an important service our campus provides for kids in foster care and for kids with disabilities, as well as for their hard-working and dedicated families that need support and rest.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to spirituallife@georgefox.edu or fpno.georgefox@gmail.com.
