The season of Advent is upon us, and the Office of Spiritual Life has partnered with faculty and students to publish the 2019 Advent Project. This daily reader is designed, written and created by people in the George Fox community and is intended to point us toward Christ as we await his birth.
Feel free to share it with friends, family and your faith community. Additionally, we will be sending a video at the beginning of each week to introduce each topic (hope, peace, joy and love). We hope it is helpful to you in some form as we celebrate this season of Advent together.
Contact Jamie Johnson (jamiej@georgefox.edu) with any questions.

IT will be releasing the newest macOS, Catalina, for installation on George Fox computers. It’s important to keep your computer up-to-date by regularly installing the most current macOS, but please be aware that certain older software programs may not work. For example, Apple has decided to drop support for 32-bit applications with this latest upgrade, but the most common applications should work normally (including Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.).Â
Please be aware that it takes about 30 to 60 minutes to download Catalina depending on your internet speed, and at least another 40 to 60 minutes to install. Also note that during the second step of installing Catalina you will be unable to use the computer.
If you have any questions or are unsure if you have unsupported applications, please contact the IT Service Desk at 503-554-2569.

As you come across lost items, especially high-value ones, please don’t wait to turn them in to the Campus Public Safety office.
People stop by our office routinely to check for lost items, and it would be most beneficial to reunite them with their items as soon as possible. Waiting weeks or months to turn things in makes it more difficult to find a match.
Thank you for your help in this matter. Questions? Call 503-554-2090 or email Elrike Shaw at eshaw@georgefox.edu

Do you have a bike on campus? If you are not using your bike, please consider taking it home this week and bringing it back over spring break when the weather improves.
If that is not a possibility, then please remove your bike from the outside bike racks and keep it in your dorm or apartment during the break so that it isn’t a temptation to thieves. Always keep your bike locked up, preferably with a U-lock.
Questions? Call 503-554-2090 or email Elrike Shaw at eshaw@georgefox.edu.
