Senior kinesiology students are looking for volunteers to participate in a study about the effects of creatine. This is a study designated for males who are currently on creatine and active in the gym or athletics.

Our BUSN250 group is working toward hosting an event centered around promoting interest in the trades among the young adult population. To make our event successful, we are hoping to get as much input from our target audience as possible.

Our interprofessional team is delighted to invite the George Fox community to a virtual presentation: “Get Cultured! Decolonizing and Decentering Whiteness in the Healthcare Workforce.” It is 100% designed, developed and delivered by healthcare professionals who identify with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.

This event, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 11-12, is for everyone, and if you identify as white, this is a special opportunity to listen and learn. We will learn about ways to decolonize and decenter whiteness in our workforce, dynamic sizing, and other methods to improve our clinical care.

Additionally, this CME will focus on two important clinical topics: persistent pain and chronic disease.

Dawn Ford and the Faculty Development Committee invite you to join them for the Spring 2022 Faculty Lecture on Tuesday, March 1, at 6 p.m. in Hoover 105.

The featured speaker is Melissa Ramos, an assistant professor of biblical studies and recipient of the 2020-21 Faculty Achievement Award for Graduate Research & Scholarship.

Ramos will speak on “Ritual in Deuteronomy,” exploring the symbolic world of Deuteronomy’s ritual covenant and curses through a lens of religious studies and anthropology. This comparison illuminates how the ritual life of ancient Israel shaped the literary form of Deuteronomy.

George Fox University and Austin Industries will host the Oregon Symphony for its 34th appearance in Bauman Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18. This year the concert will be a celebration of John Williams.

A limited number of tickets have been provided for George Fox half-time and full-time employees. Tickets are limited to two per employee on a first-come, first-served basis starting this Monday, Feb. 28, in the event services office (Ross 107). Reservations may be taken on Monday for Portland Center employees only.

George Fox is complying with the COVID-19 policies of our partners. The Oregon Symphony requires all patrons, regardless of age, to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID test and a government-issued photo ID to attend concerts. Summer Online registration opens to traditional undergraduate students today. This is a great way for students to save money on tuition and stay on track to graduate in four years.

Summer Online will run from June 6 through July 31. Students can register for up to three courses this summer. Courses are offered in an online asynchronous format through George Fox Digital, allowing students to have the flexibility to work a summer job, take trips, and enjoy their summer breaks while earning crucial credits.

The annual Bruin Boulder Bash, George Fox’s spring rock climbing competition, is happening on Saturday, March 5! Climbing sessions are 90 minutes in length and run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The award ceremony and door prizes are from 5 to 6 p.m.

The competition is free and open to climbers of all skill levels. You will have the ability to choose your skill level when you check in. Come join the fun and invite your friends to participate with you. Sessions are limited to 20 people per time slot.

The purpose of the Bruin Boulder Bash is to create a fun, inclusive and supportive event that helps the development of our community in the sport of rock climbing.

Hello everyone! We are working on a project called The Bruin Closet for our business communications class. We want to provide affordable professional clothing for college students. This will be a donation-based initiative where we take clothing contributions from our community and provide them for students at a low cost.
