The time has come to select your meal plan for the Spring 2008 semester. Your options are determined by the number of credits you have attempted through the Fall 2007 semester.

You can read about meal plans on the Student Life Website.

Please select your meal plan as soon as possible. The sooner the better!

ALL meal plan purchases and changes must be processed on Bruindata. Questions regarding the meal plan should be directed to Jere Witherspoon in the Student Life Office. Students select their meal plans on Bruindata, under MY DATA, UNIVERYSITY FORMS, MEAL PLAN.

Students are responsible to confirm their meal plans each semester and make any changes prior to the 2nd Friday of each semester.

The Newberg Community Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in Bauman Auditorium. Also performing will be a special guest: the Portland State University Concert Band. Admission is free.

George Fox University’s Symphonic Band will perform with special guest bands at an invitational band concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, in Bauman Auditorium. The Portland State University Wind Ensemble and Pacific Crest Wind Ensemble will be special guests for the event. Admission is free.

Come to George Fox University’s chamber concert!

The concert will be in Bauman Auditorium (NOT Klages Dining Hall as advertised) on the Newberg campus. The following groups will be featured: Handbells, Mello Cellos (joint ensemble: GFU & Linfield), Clarinet Quartet, String Chamber Group, Early Music Ensemble. 

Performance is Thursday, November 8th at 8:00 PM, Free admission.

CommArts, CMCO majors, or interested others – Internship positions are available in the Registrar’s office. Creative assistance is needed in the following areas:

Tutorials for online student resources
“Radio show” type Q&A podcasts

Interns will be responsible for project scope, departmental coordination, and resources for implementation.

The countdown I am referring to pertains to “Chapel.”

There are 13 chapel opportunities left in the semester.

Students can check chapel credits by logging onto Bruindata, Under the MY DATA tab, scroll to the bottom of the page till you find the STUDENT LIFE section.

Click on the link chapel credits. From there you can monitor your credits and see how many chapels you need to attend.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking two qualified candidates to work as interns in the area of admissions counseling during the spring semester. This is a great opportunity to get a professional internship on campus! 

We are looking for professional, energetic, and detailed candidates who seek academic credit or qualify for federal student employment.

Bruin Preview is scheduled Thursday and Friday, Nov. 8-9. Students can avoid the crowds in the cafeteria by eating before 5:30 p.m. or after 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Also, please avoid parking in the Stevens Center lot on those days so that visitors will have space. Please help welcome prospective students as they visit our campus.

If you have not already done so, please complete, check, and sign your October time sheet (staff) or time off report (administrators), and then send it on to your supervisor for signature. These forms can be found at: http://www.georgefox.edu/offices/hr/forms.html.

Please send it to Human Resources at Box 6108. If your supervisor is not available to sign, please send a copy to HR and keep the original until it has been signed.

The School of Education will continue to host a joint National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) accreditation visit through Wednesday, Nov. 7. The visit began on Nov. 2 and is the School of Education’s first national accreditation visit.
