If you are planning on moving off-campus for the spring, please send your request to housing@georgefox.edu no later than December 14.

Students moving off for the spring will need to check out of fall housing at the end of the current semester.

Help make Christmas special for a family of four with two boys, ages 4 and 8. A giving tree is located in the Stevens Center Atrium.

The Liberal Arts, Critical Issues (G.E. senior capstone) program will present 35 student projects focused on how we can better understand and interact with the developing world. These projects reflect the semester-long research of the 170 students participating in the program this semester. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The projects will be be presented from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, in Hoover and the EHS atrium.

Richter Grant Submissions are due Monday, December 3rd by 4pm to Hoover 110 for the Newberg Campus or to Mark Weinert at the Portland Campus.

Below is a survey my class group came up with to get input on an idea we would like to put into place in what used to be the Le Shana cafe. I hope a lot of you take the survey, so we can try to put this idea into place in Le Shana and win the contest in our class.

Just so you know our idea is to put arcade games (like Pac man, Pinball machine, Mortal combat, etc), DVD Rental Machine ($1.00 to rent), and other vending machines for drinks and snacks.

Please take our survey and hopefully your input will show us if this idea will be a great addition to our campus.  Your input is greatly appreciated.

Calling all adjuncts: Your current parking permit will expire on Dec. 31, and if you are going to be on contract for all or part of 2008, you need to renew it. Please bring your soon-to-expire permit to the Security Services office between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. before Dec. 28 to exchange it for a new permit. At that time we will update your vehicle information and re-issue you a 2008 permit. If you have switched from full-time status to adjunct status, you need to return your white staff hangtag and exchange it for an adjunct permit.

The Health and Counseling Center is still offering flu shots. Vaccines are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call ext. 2340 to make an appointment.

Flu shots are free with Pioneer insurance, $1.50 for students with the university’s health insurance, and just $15 with any other type of insurance.

All students, faculty, and employees are invited to a language lab open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in Minthorn 100. Swing by and see our new location, now on the first floor of Minthorn Hall. Hot tea and cookies will be provided.

During Cultural Celebration Week, the English Language Institute published International Voices, a collection of essays by international students at George Fox. We distributed it to interested students at chapel and have provided each office on the Newberg campus a copy.

Could a guest lecture by an international scholar enhance one of your classes? A directory of international Fulbright Scholars in the United States whom you might invite to give a guest lecture at an event or in classes is available for you to peruse.

After you identify a promising candidate, you may apply for funding for the scholar’s visit through the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program. The information is available at the Fulbright display in Lemmons 9. You also may access the Directory of Fulbright Visiting Scholars online at www.cies.org.
