The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is providing a workshop on the style requirements of the American Psychological Association (APA). The hour-long session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in EHS 102. Five seniors will be selected to receive the award. Each recipient will receive $1,000. The award recipient will be required to set aside $250 for a charitable organization of their choice, with the remaining $750 to be distributed to the award recipient in the form of a cash reward. Only seniors are eligible for the award. There is not a limit on how many students you can nominate.

Beth LaForce (Education) and Kathleen Gathercoal (Psychology) will present the fall faculty lecture, “For Such a Time as This,” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, in Hoover 105 on the Newberg campus. The lecture honors the work of Sherrie Schulke, an assistant professor of social work at George Fox until her death in 2003 after a long battle with cancer. Beth and Kathleen were part of a team from Portland State University and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital that finished and published Schulke’s research project.
