To apply, sign on to your mygfu account. Under Student Resources, you will see “2010 Newberg UG Scholarships”. Clicking on this site will take you to the sign-in page. Read information and instructions carefully.

Mark Terry’s ‘Alchemy: Born of Fire’ ceramic sculpture exhibit opens Tuesday
January 15th, 2010Mark Terry (Visual Arts) will display his work in an exhibit titled “Alchemy: Born of Fire,†an MFA thesis exhibition of ceramic sculpture. The exhibit opens Tuesday, Jan. 19, and runs through Feb. 18 in the Minthorne Gallery.
An opening reception is scheduled Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. There will also be an artist talk before the reception at 4 p.m. and again at 6:30 p.m. The show includes figurative works featuring spontaneous and organic surfaces derived from primitive firing methodologies.

Mail Services serving as a collection site for Oregon ballots
January 14th, 2010Mail Services is serving as an unofficial collection site of Oregon ballots for this month’s election. Ballots are taken by a staff person to an official drop site at the Newberg Police Department. No postage necessary for any Oregon county.
Deadline for our collection: Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 4:30 p.m.

Purchase your books for Spring now
January 13th, 2010IMPORTANT: With the upcoming transition for the Portland Center Bookstore, we will need to finalize textbook purchases for Spring 2010. If you have not yet purchased your Spring books, please do so as soon as possible!
If your course begins later in the semester, you will need to purchase those books early as well! We will begin the process of vendor returns the week of January 25.

Check Fitness Center hours to coordinate workout times
January 13th, 2010The Fitness Center is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on all days that Newberg campus classes are in session with the exception of class times. If it’s necessary for you to work out during a class session, please e-mail the instructor to gain permission to do so. Class times are: Monday through Wednesday, 7:40-10:30 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Thursday from 7:25 to 9:55 a.m. and 1:40 to 2:30 p.m. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2010!

Bruin Den, Villa Cafe close for MLK Day; meal plan hours changed
January 13th, 2010Due to the campus being closed on Monday, Jan. 18, both the Bruin Den and the Villa Cafe will not be open and will resume normal hours of service on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
Bon Appetit will also be changing meal hours in Klages for meal-plan students to the following:
Saturday & Sunday:
Continental Breakfast: 8-10 a.m.
Brunch: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Monday:
Breakfast: 8-10 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
