The university’s Ultimate Frisbee Club invites you to come play Frisbee every Wednesday night at 8 p.m. and Thursday night at 10 p.m. on the track field. The university will be shut down during Serve Day, which means all daytime classes are canceled and campus offices are closed (evening classes are not canceled for Serve Day). The Health and Counseling Center has received a limited amount of flu vaccine and we would like to invite current faculty and employees to get their flu shot early this year. We are scheduling appointments on Wednesday, Sept. 15, and Thursday, Sept. 16, from 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.
We will have additional clinics in October for staff and students when we receive more vaccine. If you do not have Regence insurance, there will be a $15 fee. Please call ext. 2340 to schedule your appointment.
Applications for the Women’s Leadership Development Cohort are still available, and the WLDI committee welcomes you to apply. If you are interested in participating in the 2010 cohort, or want to encourage someone to apply, please see the WLDI Cohort Application Packet for more information. You will find four documents related to this opportunity: a memo providing information about the program, an application, and two recommendation forms.

All commuters participating in Serve Day will meet in front of Bauman Auditorium at 9 a.m. after opening celebrations. You will chose between eight sites to serve, including Faith in Action, Tilikum, etc. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided. If you have any questions in regard to Serve Day, please contact serveday@georgefox.edu.

All students are invited to stop by our booth from 4:30-6:00 PM on Wednesday (right after Serve Day) at the Club Fair. Bring a friend and enjoy music, candy, and meet new students. Come and learn what the Latin Heritage Club will offer our campus during the school year.
There will be no U.S. Mail service (no incoming or outgoing) on Monday, Sept. 6. Carriers such as UPS and FedEx are also closed and will make no deliveries.
There will be no courier service to Portland or Salem on Monday, Sept. 6. We will deliver to both Salem and Portland centers on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Students: All cars registered through MyGFU have been issued parking permits. If you registered your car, you will need to go to Mail Services to sign for your permit. It will NOT appear in your mail box. The permits are to be affixed to your rear window, lower left-hand corner on the driver’s side. DO NOT place them on top of another permit!
There is no neighborhood parking allowed. All students with a car must register it on MyGFU and must park in the areas where your housing and corresponding parking permit indicates. Security has been giving out courtesy warning tickets this past week, but the ticket man cometh!
Now is the time to submit your request for business cards. Marketing Communications will be processing a business card order soon. Place your order directly from B&B Print Source by Monday Sept. 13.

Come join us for the very first First Friday worship Friday, Sept. 3, in Bauman Auditorium during chapel time, from 10:40 to 11:30 a.m. First Friday worship will be held the first Friday of every month and is a time of music, creative worship and prayer.
