The Chehalem Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, in Bauman Auditorium. Pieces to be performed include Fanfare for the Common Man, by Aaron Copland; Overture to ‘The Magic Flute,’ by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, by Johann Sebastian Bach; and Symphony No. 5, by Ludwig Von Beethoven.
Directed by Paul Featherstone, the Chehalem Symphony consists of George Fox students, faculty and residents of the greater Portland area. The symphony orchestra performs music from the baroque, classical, romantic and modern eras in three annual concerts.
This is a reminder that an all-employee meeting is scheduled from 3:30 to 5 p.m. this Monday, Nov. 15, in Bauman Auditorium (note the location change).
For those at the university’s regional sites, the meeting will be available for viewing at stream.georgefox.edu/live/commmtg.sdp. In addition, a chat room has been set up to allow for interaction, and a video recording of the meeting will be available for viewing in the days following the meeting at itunesu.georgefox.edu.

Seating is limited and tickets are going fast. You don’t want to miss this awesome event! It will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, in Wood-Mar Auditorium.
There has been an increase in cars parking outside the marked spaces, especially in the Bauman lot. All vehicles parked outside the designated lines are in the fire lanes and will be ticketed for a fire lane offense ($50).
If the Bauman lot is full, please park in the Fulton Street lot just one block east on Fulton Street.
Fine arts students have created versatile artworks on small 3×3 canvases, now on display in the MLRC. Most artwork is for sale for a nominal price and would make wonderful stocking stuffers.

Due to the large number of visiting students and parents who will be on campus for Bruin Preview this Friday, we are changing our normal Friday Burger Day to Wednesday. We’re doing this in order to speed up the level of service for everyone, as Burger Day lines tend to move pretty slowly.
Along with that, please try to come to lunch either before noon or after 12:45 p.m. on Friday in order to avoid the lines. We can guarantee they will be long.

Having a loved one with cancer can be a trying and difficult time, especially when you are away at school. The IJM chapter at GFU deals in large part with the issue of sex-trafficking on both a global and local scale, and what steps we can do to combat it. Two major focuses of the chapter is prayer, as well as how we can get involved in the community. This week we will be working on an event we are doing in two weeks. Come check it out!

It’s time to order university stationery. For detailed order instructions, go to the university’s communications website.
Elizabeth Holme (Print Services) will work with the Office of Marketing Communications in ordering general university (i.e. non-departmental stationery) letterhead and envelopes. You will continue to purchase all non-departmental stationery (including “second-sheet letterheadâ€) through her.
Orders are due by Tuesday, Nov. 16.
It’s already almost halfway through November and you should have at least 14 Spiritual Life credits. There are 18 more events to receive credit for this semester.  To ensure that you have the credits you need, please check your MyGFU ( under students resources and then chapel.  You will see a list of all events with a check next to every event attended. Your requirement and amount of credits still needed is at the bottom of this page).
FOR RECORDING PURPOSES, EVEN AFTER YOU REACH 21 CREDITS, PLEASE CONTINUE TO SWIPE YOUR CARD AT EVERY EVENT YOU ATTEND.
All undergraduate students who have less than 93 credits and were not 22 by the beginning of the 2010 fall semester must earn 21 spiritual life credits by Friday, December 10th. Tickets are available for the final shows of the university’s fall theatre production, Euripides’ Ion. The show is a world premiere of Paul D. Streufert’s translation of the Greek tragedy.
The play runs this Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 11-14, in Wood-Mar Auditorium. Performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. each night with the exception of the Sunday, Nov. 14 show, scheduled as a 2 p.m. matinee.
All George Fox employees receive one complimentary ticket. Students will be admitted free on Thursday. Your complimentary ticket is only available at the Box Office in the Bruin Bookstore.
