On Tuesday, Nov. 13, the university will host a Cultural Fair – and we’d love to give you the opportunity to share your culture at the big event. This includes cultures from within the U.S.
On Tuesday, Oct. 30, we will host two informational meetings for those who wish to host a table at the fair that showcases their culture. If you are interested, join us at 11:40 a.m. or 12:40 p.m. in the International Center/Cultural House. We will have pizza, so join us for lunch and get the details on sharing your culture at the Cultural Fair.
The Cultural Fair will feature students from Asia, Europe, Africa and other parts of America sharing something about their own culture. You do not need to go to other countries or places to experience a different culture – just come to the Cultural Fair. You will have a chance to enjoy wonderful displays, learn something new, and of course experience delicious food from all over the world!

The campus community is invited to tonight’s (Monday’s) “Islam and the West” Liberal Arts and Critical Issues series in Hoover 105. The session runs from 7 to 8 p.m. and features Mathias Zahniser, a scholar in residence at Greenville College.
Zahniser will present “The Challenge of Islam for the Liberal Arts,” in which he will discuss how a Christian liberal arts education should lead to a practice of engagement with Muslims that reveals the path and pattern of following Jesus authentically.

The men’s and women’s golf teams will participate in the Northwest Conference Fall Classics on Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 27-28, at the Tri-Mountain Golf Course in Ridgefield, Wash. Tee times both days are 8:30 a.m., with men and women teeing off at the same time in a shotgun start.

Each year we are excited to be a part of a collaborative effort to serve the community of Portland in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year we are gathering a group of students from each participating school to help lead the day at the various service sites.
Being a leader would mean participating in two meetings (one in November and one in December), prepping the night before, and help lead projects at the various sites on the day of service, Jan. 21.
We are looking for anyone that is wanting to be more involved, is enthusiastic about leading, and has a heart for the meaning of MLK Day of service. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Amber Nelson at nelsona@georgefox.edu as soon as possible!

Consider whether to withdraw from one or more courses if it looks likely that you’ll get an F (or maybe even a D).
The last date to withdraw is Sunday, November 4, 2012
You can usually go below 12 hours (at this point in the semester) without impacting your financial aid or housing.
However, you should contact representatives in these departments to be certain:

Withdrawal results in a W on your transcript but does not factor into GPA.

Meet with your advisor to discuss options.
