This week Shalom will be a special session featuring guest musician Josh Dillard, a singer/songwriter from Colorado and friend of Aaron Strumpel. He will be at Shalom to share his music and reflect on how art might be used to express the inexpressible.

Sarah Sanford, director of marketing & recruitment of the Semester in Spain program at Trinity Christian College, will visit to provide George Fox Spanish majors and minors with information about the Semester in Spain program in Sevilla, Spain, which George Fox sends students to every year.
This event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 in the Bruin Den.
The George Fox Auxiliary invites the university community to a series of luncheons this academic year featuring the theme “Reflections on Pacific College/GFC/GFU History.” Each session will feature a special speaker discussing school history. Meetings will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Cap and Gown Room, starting with the first meeting on Friday, Oct. 4.
In this first session, Clyde Thomas, director of plant services, will share the history of campus buildings, including info on the names of buildings and ideas of future campus growth. Details on future auxiliary presentations will be forthcoming.
The cost to attend is $8.50 per person, and payment may be made at the door. Reservations are required and can by arranged by calling Judy Woolsey at 503-538-7314.
If you don’t know what SCORR is, it stands for Student Congress on Racial Reconciliation. The purpose of SCORR is to “glorify God by empowering students to better face the challenges existing on their campuses, in their communities, and in society at large through multi-ethnic awareness and engaging in the active process of racial reconciliation.â€
SCORR consists of a weekly discussion meeting in a close-knit group and going to an annual conference in February at Biola University. SCORR is the beginning of a life long journey of learning to glorifying God by seeing all people, all races, and all cultures through his eyes. The online application is NOW open to all interested students! The application deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 1 (about a week away).

The Undergraduate College of Business is hosting an International Business Institute information meeting from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, in the Cap and Gown Room.
IBI is an academic summer program focused on global business coursework. Students study in 14 countries over a 10-week period, earning 12 academic credits and gaining exposure to international businesses and cultural opportunities. Program application is sponsored by the George Fox College of Business through an affiliation with Messiah College.
Any interested students are encouraged to attend this information meeting on applying for the IBI program for 2014. The agenda for the meeting includes a panel discussion by George Fox students who attended IBI during the summer of 2013 and detailed instructions for completing the application process for IBI 2014.

Join us for Beth Molzahn’s farewell reception in the Stevens Center (Duke) Atrium from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 27. Her final day with us is Friday, Oct. 4.
Beth has served at the university for 18 years (plus four years as a student employee). She plans to work with her husband Rob in his real estate business and start a ministry helping those who need assistance with projects around the house.
Her first regular employee assignment with George Fox was as an administrative assistant for humanities, then as an executive assistant in academic affairs. She has spent the last 11 years in graduate admissions, primarily serving MAT faculty and students.

1. Your name and e-mail address (may include the list of names from those in your group)
2. Course name and professor
3. Approval for distribution granted by: _______________________ (list department)
4. Short, catchy blurb about the survey no more than 35 words in length
5. A tested, workable link to the survey
