Sarita Gallagher (Religious Studies) published an article, “Blessing on the Move: The Outpouring of God’s Blessing through the Migrant Abraham,†in the latest issue of Mission Studies journal.
Jan Lefebvre (University Advancement) traveled to Haiti once again Jan. 6-15. While there, she worked with women from the U.S. distributing gifts to children, mothers and babies; worked in prayer ministry in the village of Grand Goave; helped with home building; and shared in music, teaching and testimony. “I think it just may have been one of, if not the, best trip I’ve been blessed to experience of the 15 I’ve made – especially witnessing a father accept the Lord,†she said.
Rodney Birch (Library – Newberg) and Jane Scott (Library-Newberg) had two articles published in the December 2013 issue of The Christian Librarian: Journal of the Association of Christian Librarians. The articles were titled “Wesleyan-Holiness Digital Library Becomes a Reality†and “Employing Pedagogical Imagination with Open Educational Resources.â€
Ed Higgins’ (English) haiku poem “they honed each other†was published in the January 2014 issue of Three Line Poetry, an online journal.

Staff and students: The lost and found is bulging, so there will be lost and found tables set up in the Bruin Den today (Tuesday) from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Any items not reunited with their owners will be donated to charitable causes later that afternoon, so please make a point to stop by and look for your lost items!
Some of the region’s top young artists will have their work on display in the Lindgren Gallery Jan. 28 through Feb. 24, when the university hosts its 22nd annual High School Art Northwest exhibit.
The event begins with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, in the gallery. Approximately 40 to 45 pieces have been selected as part of the show, with cash prizes awarded to juror-selected students based on the excellence of their art.
In addition to traditional mediums, such as paintings, ceramics and mixed media, the exhibit has expanded its scope over the years to include digital art and three-dimensional art. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is no fee to view the exhibit.
The annual juried exhibit features art from high school students in Oregon and Washington. High schools to be represented include Oregon Episcopal School, Lakeridge High School, Newberg High School, Lake Washington High School, St. Mary’s Academy, Wilsonville High School, West Linn High School and St. George’s School.
Prize winners will be announced at the opening. The jurors for this year’s show are art professors Doug Campbell and Gary Buhler.

Have you always wished you could sing? Do you sing already and want to improve your singing? Musi 125 is a class for beginning and established singers and takes place on Mondays and Fridays at 9:40 a.m. It is a one-credit class and may be repeated a second time for credit.
Whether you sing in the shower or at church, come and have some fun singing and learn how to be a better singer!

The Intro to Guitar Class is offered for those new to the guitar who want to learn in a fun group setting. Learn to play rock, worship and popular songs while learning strumming patterns and chord progressions. No experience is necessary. MUSI 250-A (Tuesdays/Thursdays, 9:40-10:30 a.m).
Individual Guitar Lessons are offered to bring your playing to the next level! One-on-one lessons cover beginners all the way to very experienced players. Janet and Dennis will share stories about people they met during the many years they lived in China, and what those people are doing today. You are welcome to come, listen, ask questions and be encouraged. International Chapel is eligible for chapel elective credit.
