‘Twelfth Night’ auditions set for Saturday in Wood-Mar

August 28th, 2014

The university’s theatre department is hosting Twelfth Night auditions Saturday, Aug. 30, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Wood-Mar Auditorium.

Actors should prepare one Shakespeare monologue (comedic or dramatic, from a play other than Twelfth Night) and a contrasting “bit.” This could be a short piece of stand-up comedy, a song, a juggling act, a dance, an original poem, or any other special skill you feel could be germane to the show – or that will help the director get to know you as a unique artist. Total combined time should not exceed three minutes.

Sign up for an audition slot on the audition sign-up sheet in Lemmons Hall. Call-backs are on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Contact Megan Weaver at mweaver@fullstopcollective.org with questions.

Please register your vehicle and park in assigned areas

August 27th, 2014

Students, several of you have received courtesy pink warning tickets telling you to either register your vehicle or to park where your parking permit indicates. The staff lots are not for student parking, so please stop parking there immediately and move your cars to the appropriate lots according to your permit designation.

Anybody who has failed to register their vehicle or to check the “not bringing a vehicle” box on MyGFU by Friday, Sept. 5, will have a $40 non-refundable fee charged to their account for failure to register. We know you have better things to do with that money, so please go on MyGFU and do one or the other immediately.

Questions? Please come to the security office during business hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and we can help you!

Updated budget summary reports

August 27th, 2014

As part of the Chart of Accounts updates, budget summary reports available in MyGFU will be changing to include the program chart field.

The reports will be updated today (Thursday, Aug. 28) mid-morning. You will still be able to use your existing run controls when running the updated reports. In order to see your budget information, you will need to fill in the program and fund fields on the screen where you indicate year and department.

If you have multiple programs in your department, you may use the “%” sign as a wild card to show the programs within your department. For instance, if you had both MG100 and MG101 in your department, you would put MG10% to include both.

Important ticket info for opening football game

August 27th, 2014

Due to the excitement surrounding the return of football at George Fox, we are anticipating a sold-out game on Saturday, Sept. 6!

The university has reserved a limited number of tickets for employees and students. Please review the information below to find out how you and your family and friends can get your tickets for the big game!

Employees
Employees are eligible to receive one complimentary ticket. (Note: The ticket supply is limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis). These tickets are available to pick up for a limited time today (Thursday, Aug. 28) from noon to 4 p.m. in front of the Stevens Center (Portland Center employees can request their tickets in person with Emily Maynard at the Portland Center during this same time frame).

Children under 10 are free to attend the event, but you will still need to pick up children’s tickets that day. Anyone can pick up the tickets for you, but they must present your employee ID to receive their tickets.

On Friday, Aug. 29, from noon to 2 p.m., we will reopen our online ticket website for any employee family members who also wish to buy a general admissions ticket, or to purchase one of the remaining season tickets. This site will close for game one after 2 p.m. on Aug. 29.

*Please note that all general admission ticket seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend you come early to ensure you sit with your family and friends. Expect large crowds! This won’t be like any sporting event ever held at George Fox. All attendees and their family members must have a ticket to attend the game.

Season Tickets
The best way to ensure a hassle-free seat with your name on it is to purchase season tickets here. There are only about 200 left, so act now and get them while they last!

Students
There are a limited number of student tickets that will be made available through ASC next week. Students will receive more information regarding the distribution of these tickets.

Alumni & Community Members
We will reserve some tickets for alumni and community members to purchase on game day. However, this will be a very limited number of tickets due to the number of employees and students receiving complimentary tickets.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new and exciting endeavor!
