Vehicle Registration Hints

August 7th, 2015

Students arriving early for fall sports, RA training, graduate orientation programs, Welcome Weekend, or staff training, here are some helpful hints regarding the new process for vehicle registration:

1. Remember to type in your campus post office box number or local address as the ‘mailing’ address when you register your vehicle so that it arrives to your campus address, rather than your home address.

2. Your permit will be written up as a package at Mail Services and you will be required to sign for it.

3. The link to register is now located in “GFU RESOURCES” at the bottom of the page in MYGFU.

4. You will need to sign in using your 7 digit GFU student ID. This ID is between the dashes on your ID card.

5. You will need your DMV registration card when you register your vehicle as you will need information found on your DMV registration in order to register your car at GFU.

6. Parking permits must be affixed to the exterior of your vehicle and must be clearly visible from the rear of the vehicle. Please do not place the new permit on any existing permit as it will affect it’s ability to stay adhered to the vehicle window.

Please allow 1-2 weeks after registering for your permit to be delivered to the address you indicated.

Questions? Have an unusual vehicle situation? Please contact Nadine Kincaid at 503-554-2090 or e-mail nkincaid@georgefox.edu.

COMMUTERS:
If you are registering more than one vehicle, please be sure to have the registration information for BOTH vehicles when you register. Both permits will be processed at the same time and sent in two different envelopes.

To read about the parking policies that are enforced at GFU, please check out this website:

Volunteers still needed for Welcome Weekend

August 6th, 2015

And who better to do that than our own faculty and staff? Please complete this form and we will contact you with further instructions.

Welcome Weekend volunteer sign ups

August 5th, 2015

With another large incoming class and a new dorm we are needing many hands to help move in incoming students on Thursday, Aug. 27. Looking for a part-time, interim Serve Day coordinator

August 5th, 2015

Do you have a love for details, a heart for service and interest in a short-term work opportunity in the final weeks of the summer? If so, you might be a perfect fit for our interim Serve Day coordinator position. Our Serve Day Committee and full-time student intern are working diligently toward this exciting Sept. 9 all-campus event, however we are looking for an interim professional staff member to guide the remainder of the process.

The SpIL office is looking for an internal candidate for this role who has a great deal of experience with George Fox’s Serve Day, event planning experience, and a lightly scheduled August and early September. If that’s you or someone you know, please send an email to Jamie Noling-Auth at jnolingauth@georgefox.edu.

Call for stationery orders

August 5th, 2015

Now is the time to order university stationery. The collective order helps keep costs low – the higher the volume, the lower the cost. Consequently, it is most economical to overestimate needs and store a small surplus.

Marketing Communications will be accepting orders through Monday, Aug. 17. For order instructions, visit our stationary page. Continue to purchase all non-departmental stationery (including “second-sheet letterhead”) through Print Services.

Please contact Danette Newkirk at dnewkirk@georgefox.edu if you have any questions.

Showcase your department, group or team on the Stoffer video board

August 4th, 2015

We will have the large video board at Stoffer Family Stadium up and running during Welcome Weekend and would like to have as many campus groups and departments as possible represented. This will be a really great way to “advertise” during a time when many people are on campus.

If you have content that you would like put up on the video board, please send it to Elise Trask (etrask@georgefox.edu) by August 15. Here are a few guidelines:

  • Image must be 16×9 JPEG (you can set your dimensions and do the JPEG conversion in PowerPoint)
  • Keep the text that accompanies the image short and simple
  • Be sure that your department/group/team name is submitted along with the image
  • Make sure the picture fits within the George Fox brand
  • You can submit a maximum of two 16×9 JPEGs per department/group/team

You can advertise an upcoming event, or maybe you have a photo from a past event (Juniors Abroad, music concert, art exhibit, etc.) that you feel represents your department/group/team well. Contact Elise with any questions.
