• At least five players of a team have to attend the match; if not, the team will be disqualified for the tournament.
• Only George Fox students are allowed to participate in this event.
• All players have to physically present for the event.
• Players have to bring their own device for gaming/tournament.
• Players cannot rotate during matches.

The time has come once again to begin the process of selecting our undergraduate “Who’s Who” nominees for the 2015-16 academic year.

For those of you who have contact with our undergraduate population you have the opportunity to make nominations by selecting up to 20 students who you feel are worthy of recognition from the students who qualify for selection. These students are eligible for nomination and expect to graduate either midyear or spring (December 2015 or April 2016).

Please take a few minutes to make your selections for this award! You do NOT need to choose 20 students … just up to 20! Please mark your selections no later than Friday, Nov. 13, 2015. Please choose up to 20 but no more than 20 students.

In addition, these students all have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 and have turned in their application for degree. Other criteria for choosing a student include their demonstration of:

• Personal integrity
• Involvement in the George Fox community
• Service to the community at large

A total of 155 students are eligible for nomination based on GPA alone. We will record the top-20 selections and determine the top-25 choices university-wide. We will then invite the top 25 students to respond. All students who respond will be awarded the “Who’s Who” honor.

(Please note: There may be others who qualify to be on this list, but because they have not registered for commencement at the time of the selection process, they are not on this list.)

Come hear a special speaker, Lutaaya Abdul, share about the work he is doing in Uganda through the African Hearts Orphanage. He will visit with us on Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in EHS 102.

Lataaya grew up in the slums of Kampala. He was introduced to Christ at a school that taught the gospel through music. Since then, he has started African Hearts Orphanage, an orphanage for vulnerable young people to improve their safety and physical, spiritual and emotional health and future well-being.

The organization’s target population is children who are living on the streets, many of whom have been orphaned by HIV or abandoned or victimized by family violence. The organization currently operates two homes housing former street children in Senge. Children living in these homes are taught the Bible and are provided with shelter, food, love and education. Lataaya’s visit is being sponsored by the Center for Study Abroad.

The Game Night Club is throwing our first Dominion Tournament this year in the Foxhole! The event is open to anyone who would like to come: students, employees, or your best friend from high school. We will start play at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, with a series of seeding games. Saturday’s bracket starts at 10 a.m. Prizes will go to the first- and second-place finishers.

ISI is a national network of clubs on college campuses dedicated to exploring and advancing western tradition and conservative thought.

This Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. the ISI club will hold its first meeting in Center Street House. We in the theatre department hope to see you at auditions for The Spitfire Grill, our winter musical, and Ten! Ten! Ten!

Auditions are scheduled this Saturday, Oct. 31, in Wood-Mar Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please prepare a 90-second contemporary dramatic monologue (for both Spitfire and Ten! Ten! Ten!).

If you’d like to audition for the musical, please additionally prepare one minute of a song from a musical and be sure to bring your sheet music. Your monologue and song must be fully memorized, prepared and ready to present.

Come support our theatre students at this fall’s comedy presentation of Moliere’s Tartuffe, directed by Rhett Luedtke.

The final performances are in Wood-Mar Auditorium Oct. 29 through Nov. 1. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of the Sunday, Nov. 1 show, scheduled as a 2 p.m. matinee.

Synopsis: Tartuffe was originally banned from the theatre when it was first performed in 1664 and has been delighting audiences ever since. Tartuffe, a slick, religious charlatan, dupes Orgon, a rich family man, into believing that Tartuffe is deeply concerned for Orgon’s eternal salvation. Orgon’s family members see through the charade and do all they can to open Orgon’s eyes, but to no avail.

When Orgon promises Tartuffe his daughter’s hand in marriage, and the keys to his house, Elmire (Orgon’s wife) concocts a daring plan to open Orgon’s eyes once and for all. One of Moliere’s most celebrated comedies, Tartuffe has historically been loathed by religious hypocrites, but celebrated by the wise.

Tickets are $6 for students, or free for students on Oct. 22 and 29. Employees are entitled to one complimentary ticket. Please bring your student or employee ID to the door when you attend the show. Additional tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 or older, and $6 for children under 12.
