Opportunities will be available to work with the Nike North America Customer Service (NACS) team over a 12-week contract that could give you introductory experience to different areas of Nike order management.

This Collegiate Summer Worker program is perfect for those interested in logistics, sales, supply chain, customer operations, order management, information solutions, process improvement, and project management.

Join us for the first Liberal Arts and Critical Issues lecture of the semester this Monday, Jan. 25, when Gregg Koskela, a George Fox alumnus and pastor at Newberg Friends Church, speaks on the topic “Free, Embrace or Sift? Taking Back Agency as a Christian in Pop Culture” in Hoover 105. The same presentation will be made from 5 to 6 p.m. and from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

We can fear the media around us, giving it power as we fear its corrupting influence. We can swim and breathe in it, thoughtlessly allowing it to define us. Or we can look for how our creative God is bubbling up through all kinds of human creativity, being mindful of the ways music, movies and other media encourage or discourage the pursuit of God’s good life. Gregg will argue for the third.

Do economies facilitate or stifle human fulfillment and flourishing? Is stewardship at odds with capitalism? Is economic freedom an oxymoron?

Nate Peach (Economics) and Mark Hall (Politics) will lead a small-group discussion of these issues as they pertain to current events. We will read and discuss articles from The Economist each week at the Coffee Cottage. There will also be opportunities to meet and discuss these issues with scholars visiting George Fox over dinner.

Students who participate will receive all necessary materials free of cost, a $50 gift card at the Coffee Cottage, and all dinners will be paid for.

Join the Department of Art and Design in welcoming guest artists Duncan Simcoe and Jonathan Puls to campus today (Thursday), as they unveil their show, “One to Me is Pleasure or Pain,” in the Minthorne Gallery.

An artist talk with Puls is scheduled today from 4:10 to 5 p.m. in Hoover 105. An opening reception follows from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hoover lobby. The artist talk with Simcoe will be Monday, Jan. 25, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Chehalem Cultural Center Ballroom (415 E. Sheridan St.).

The exhibit is a narrative painting show of two artists of faith. Simcoe teaches at Cal Baptist in Southern California, and Puls teaches at Biola.
