The Gospel. Worship. Fun. Square 1 is a completely student-led chapel elective (meaning you get credit) designed to get back to the simple, core elements of faith in Christ, to start “back at square one.â€
Tonight (Friday) we’ll meet at 6 p.m. in the Foxhole and shuttle over to the river! It’ll be pretty low-key, we’ll play around, have worship and time in the Word, and then come back for Mr. Bruin.

With our Bruin Preview guests on campus today (Friday), it will get very crowded in the dining room during breakfast and lunch. Overflow seating will be available in the Cap and Gown Room for both meals.

The university’s Center for Peace and Justice welcomes Stuart Willcuts, Mercy Corps country director in Ukraine, to speak at the 2016 John Woolman Peacemaking Forum on Tuesday, April 12. Our theme this year is “Fostering Peace and Justice Through the Lens of Service.”
Stuart, a 1972 alumnus of George Fox, has dedicated his life to promoting peace and reconciliation during complex humanitarian crisis events. He will speak on restoring hope to the most vulnerable during chapel in Bauman Auditorium at 10:50 a.m.
The evening event, at 7 p.m. in Hoover 105, is open to the community. Stuart will share real-life stories about his courageous work as a disciple of Christ serving the world. He will also be presented the John Woolman Peacemaking Award for his lifetime of international humanitarian service to those who have been marginalized by and suffered from war and oppression.

Come engage in civil dialogue and good food with a panel and others at a new discussion series called Matheteis. Join us for a nice dinner this Monday, April 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the Cap and Gown Room.
Matheteis is an event where we create space for civil discourse to current issues in society by exploring them from a biblical perspective. Our first topic for this discussion series is “Donald Trump: The Evangelical Conundrum.”
Why are so many Evangelicals supporting and voting for Trump? What is it about him that appeals to people, but particularly Christians? Follow this link to save your spot! For this first event, we only have 20 student spots available, and there is a charge of $5 at the door.

Do you know what to do in an active shooter situation? If your department or building has not taken an active shooter training, please consider scheduling this training for this summer.
It will be specific to your building and will consist of classroom instruction on what to do in an incident like this. There will be a simulation so you will know what to do and where to go in your building.
