Student employees: A few reminders before you go

April 27th, 2016

Before saying your goodbyes and hitting the highway there are a few payroll reminders. First, please be sure to lock your time sheets. This will prevent any hold on your paycheck for a signature.

Second, be sure your address is up to date with mail services so your paycheck can find you. Another great option is to set up direct deposit before you go, so your pay won’t be delayed by the mail. The direct deposit form is available at this link.

Questions? Contact Kasondra Silva in HR at 503-554-2184.

Volunteers still needed for OSAA choir competition May 5-7

Do you like free lunch? Are you a nice person? Do you like interacting with people? If any of these apply to you, we have a job for you!

Consider leading an eight-week Fall Life Group

April 26th, 2016

The Office for Spiritual and Intercultural Life is looking for post-college Life Group leaders for our eight-week Fall Life Groups (the weeks of Sept. 19 to Nov. 7.)

Life Groups are small groups of undergraduate students who meet together for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Groups meet weekly for 60 to 90 minutes at the time and location of your choosing. Participants will select the group they wish to participate in based on the details that leaders provide.

Groups are encouraged to use one of three curriculum options recommended by the Office for Spiritual and Intercultural Life that parallel other themes that are being explored in chapel. We welcome our employees, alumni, family members of George Fox employees and students, and members of our wonderful local churches to consider leading a group.

Our fall leader meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 7, from noon to 1:30 p.m., and lunch will be provided. For more information and to sign up, visit our webpage.

FoxTALE End-of-Semester Reminders

April 26th, 2016

If you used the FoxTALE grade book for any of your FoxTALE course sites, back up your 2016 Spring grade book to a spreadsheet that is saved outside of FoxTALE. See the instructions here for backing up grades. You will want to keep an archive of your course grades that cover the last five years.

Use your new, empty 2016 Summer (or Fall) sites as the sites in which you will teach. You may import content from another course site. See the instructions here for importing.

2016 Summer sites are currently hidden from student view. When you are ready, you can share the site with your students. Here is a quick guide on how to make the courses available: FoxTALE Making Courses Visible to Students.

If your course site is set to Weekly format, your course might show incorrect dates. To change the dates, go to Administration> Edit settings on the course home page. Scroll down to the Course start date, and change it to the first day of your 2016 Summer course. Scroll to the bottom of the page and “Save changes.”

Visit the FoxTALE for Faculty webpage for guides, resources and the new features coming in the Aug. 19, 2016, FoxTALE Upgrade.

For questions or assistance using FoxTALE please contact the IT Service Desk at servicedesk@georgefox.edu or 503-554-2569.
