Student supervisors: The last payday of summer is Wednesday, Sept. 15. For us to meet this deadline, we need your students’ August time sheets by Friday, Sept. 3, by 5 p.m. Remember that Aug. 30 and 31 must go on the time sheet for September.
Please be sure the student’s name, ID number and cost center number are legible on each one. Also, don’t forget to sign them and be sure the students did as well. Please do not send students to HR to sign their time sheets.
Thanks so much for helping us get our students paid in a timely manner!

As a result of our latest redesign, the majority of pages on the university website have been redesigned, giving them a new, professional and consistent look. When browsing the website, it’s possible that your web browser isn’t actually showing you the most recent page. If a page doesn’t look like it has changed, or looks broken in some way, you might need to force your web browser to download the newest version. This process is called clearing your cache.
This is an easy task to accomplish and depends on what operating system and browser your computer is using.
On a PC
Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox: hold down the control button and press “F5.”
On a Mac
Mozilla Firefox: hold down command, shift, and press “r.”
Safari: Go to the Safari menu and choose the “Empty Cache” option.
This will force the page to update and remove any old content that the web browser may have been showing you.

The Office of Spiritual Life and Center for Peace and Justice are excited to be hosting David and Lenuta Chronic for fall semester as missional practitioners-in-residence. The Chronics work as country directors in Romania for World Made Flesh, a nonprofit organization existing to serve among the most vulnerable of the world’s poor.
An immediate need has materialized for a car for the duration (or even a portion) of their stay, Aug. 30 through Dec. 15. If you or anyone you know would be willing to donate a car for David and Lenuta to use while at George Fox, it would be greatly appreciated.
Please contact the Office of Spiritual Life if this is something you are able to do: spirituallife@georgefox.edu or ext. 2320.
Many thanks,
Office of Spiritual Life

Dear Friends,
We have a student in the seminary who has some special needs, and I was wondering if any of you might have some ideas about how to help.
Alec Sandu is a Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership student and he began in the fall of 2009. He and his family are from Zimbabwe. His wife and three children (13- and 4-year-old boy, 9-year-old girl) have adjusted well to life in America.
Alec is a pastor in the village of Siadini and a sustenance farmer. He has been pastoring for 14 years and is seeking a graduate education in order to teach and train pastors and laity. His association (First Christ Church – Churches of Christ) hosts two training conferences per year – one for pastors and the other for their congregations. He is returning to Zimbabwe on Aug. 17 for this conference. Unless we find housing for his family, they will return with him as well.
Their host family has paid for their expenses up to this point, but are no longer able to provide for Alec and his family, They are in desperate need of a place to live. If you can help in any way, please let us know. Gil George is managing the search for housing (ggeorge07@georgefox.edu). We are trying to find some part-time employment for Alec also.
Your prayers and ideas are greatly appreciated.
In Christ,
MaryKate Morse (Seminary)
