Barbara is senior vice president and market executive of U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, where she has been employed for 37 years. She has management responsibility for two offices in Portland and Vancouver. Barbara has served on the university board of trustees for 17 years and also participates on boards for Transitional Youth, United Way Campaign, Medical Teams International, and Employers for Excellence in Education.
From her wealth of experience, Barbara will share with us her leadership journey and thoughts about mentoring and being mentored.

Tickets are still available for the university’s fall theatre production, Euripides’ Ion. The show is a world premiere of Paul D. Streufert’s translation of the Greek tragedy.
The show runs this Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 4-6, and the following Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 11-14, in Wood-Mar Auditorium. Performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. each night with the exception of the Sunday, Nov. 14 show, scheduled as a 2 p.m. matinee.
All George Fox University employees receive one complimentary ticket. Students will be admitted free on both Thursdays. Your complimentary ticket is only available at the Box Office in the Bruin Bookstore. Additional tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for alumni and seniors, and $6 for students and children under 12. The university’s Center for Global Studies and Center for Peace and Justice are hosting a panel Tuesday, Nov. 2, related to the panelists’ participation at the Lausanne Movement’s Third Congress on World Evangelization in Cape Town, South Africa, in October. Chapel credit is available for those students who attend.
Panel members include President Robin Baker, Sarita Gallagher (Religious Studies) and the university’s missional-practitioner-in-residence, David Chronic.
Join us at 7:30 p.m. in Hoover 105. A reception will follow.

Please be sure the student’s name, ID number and cost center number is legible on each one. Also, don’t forget to sign them and be sure the students did as well. Please do not send students to HR to sign their time sheets.

The university will host jazz saxophonist Allan Chase, who has performed with some of the nation’s top jazz musicians, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, in Bauman Auditorium. The concert is being hosted in conjunction with Family Weekend.
All employees and students are entitled to one individual complimentary ticket, available for pick-up in the Bruin Bookstore. Additional tickets cost $10 (good for a family of four), and can be purchased by calling the University Box Office at ext. 3844, online at familyweekend.georgefox.edu, or in the lobby the night of the concert.
Chase will be the featured artist at the fall jazz concert, performing with the university’s Jazz Ensemble and a faculty trio. He is chair of the ear training department at Berklee College of Music in Boston and leads the Allan Chase Trio and the Allan Chase Quartet. Chase has been a soloist on 35 jazz recordings and performed with artists that include Rashied Ali, Joe Morris, Gunther Schuller and John McNeil.

The all-employee meetings originally scheduled for Oct. 28 and Nov. 24 have been canceled. Instead, an all-employee meeting is scheduled from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, in Bauman Auditorium (note the location change).

The intended audience are those who are preparing (either for themselves or someone they know) for undergraduate admissions for the 2011 year. This is a repeat of the on-campus meeting that was held in September.
