Wellness Wednesdays: ‘Just Breathe’

Tuesday, August 31st, 2021

We have been so busy preparing for our students and the new academic year. It is stunning how many people and how much individual and collective effort and logistics go into a successful enrollment and education.

We are grateful for the Lord to carry us through some challenging times this year and we appreciate you and your relentless work and love for our George Fox community.

In the midst of all this incredible work, we encourage you to pause, take a deep breath, and connect with the life giving power of the Holy Spirit.

Be well.

Questions? Contact HR at hr@georgefox.edu.

Furniture walk-throughs currently suspended; please enter work orders

Monday, August 30th, 2021

If you as a faculty or staff member require a desk, bookcase, filing cabinet or table, a work order will need to be entered for the delivery of these items.

Contact your building monitor so that they can enter the work order on your behalf. The custodial services team will deliver an item that matches the existing building furniture style. If no items exist in the surplus furniture inventory, your request will be denied and purchasing will work with you on acquiring the pieces of furniture that are needed.

Visits to Plant Services to look at the surplus furniture inventory are not allowed at this time. Contact Sonia Rademacher (srademacher@georgefox.edu) with any questions.

Interested in leading a Life Group this fall?

Monday, August 30th, 2021

The Office for Spiritual Life is looking for Life Group leaders for our fall 2021 Life Groups series (the weeks of Sept. 10 through Nov. 12).

Life Groups are small groups of undergraduate students who meet together for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Groups meet weekly for 60 to 90 minutes. This fall our groups will be either in person or completely via Zoom (this provides access for our George Fox Digital students).

Life Groups through the Office for Spiritual Life will also be SPIL-credit-eligible in order to encourage students to engage in high-quality spiritual formation experiences that are participatory and offer ongoing community. To sign up, please fill out this form.

We welcome our employees, current seniors, alumni, family members of George Fox employees and students, and members of our wonderful local churches to consider leading a group. For more information and to sign up, visit this webpage or contact the Office for Spiritual Life at spirituallife@georgefox.edu.

Important info to know about COVID and campus life

Monday, August 30th, 2021

Three things you need to know about COVID-19 and campus life:

  1. Wear your face masks where required. By state mandate, masks are required in indoor public spaces and at outdoor public settings where six feet of physical distancing is not possible.

  2. Let us know if you have symptoms. Students and employees who experience COVID-19 or cold symptoms should quarantine and let the university know by completing the COVID Care Form. We can help you – and protect our community – if you let us know.

  3. Free COVID testing and vaccinations are available on the Newberg campus. Contact the Health and Counseling Center to make an appointment (503-554-2340).
