There have been a few phishing attempts that have been circulating through George Fox emails. These attempts can come in various forms, and they are sent to try to gain access to either your email account or to confidential information. The most recent attempt is a notification of a shared Google Doc titled “IT WORK ORDER REQUEST DOCXX.pdf.”

This week we explore healthy nutrition as part of our daily preventive care. Eating healthy helps prevent, delay, and manage heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic diseases.
A balanced, healthy dietary pattern includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and low-fat dairy products, and limits added sugars, saturated fats and sodium. You can read more about a healthy diet here.
Providence members: Don’t forget you have free health coaching that covers topics such as healthy nutrition, diabetes prevention and improving your diet.
Providence Health Plan members: Check out LifeBalance’s featured deals for the month of June …
All university offices will be closed this Monday, June 20, to observe the Juneteenth holiday. The Murdock Library will be closed, although access to the 24/7 space will remain available. The Bruin Store will be open for its regular hours (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
Please remember to check out the finance fiscal year closing schedule on the fiscal year-end deadlines and procedures webpage. Deadlines are approaching for credit card use, Concur and purchase order processing.
If you have questions, please call Frank Charles (ext. 2006) or Kathi Becker (ext. 2166) in the finance office.
This week in our Wellness Wednesdays series, we continue to explore preventive care. Preventive screenings lead to detecting diseases and illnesses earlier, often leading to faster recovery or less-severe consequences. Check out this link to learn what screenings should be added to your preventative care.

Our team is thrilled to begin planning for Serve Day 2022!
If you have not already, please take a moment and help us by completing this employee survey. We like to place employees with community partners they’re already connected to or in roles they enjoy. You can note any preferences, limitations or questions you have and we’ll take them into consideration when we place you on a team over the summer.
If you’re planning to be on sabbatical next semester or know of a significant change that will keep you away from campus during the week of Serve Day, please let us know using the form. It is essential for our planning.
Please note: The survey above is required for all Newberg employees.
See you on Wednesday, Sept. 14, for another great Serve Day. Questions? Contact Kenna Coffee at mcoffee@georgefox.edu.
This week, we are sharing the importance of a wellness visit with your provider and your dentist. Did you know that when the hardest substance in the human body deteriorates, it may be an early warning sign?
Check out this Ted talk on the importance of dental care, and this flier for more about preventative care.
