Staff and students: In the case of a large-scale emergency on campus that prevented everybody from going home, do you have emergency supplies on hand to last one to three days? These items will help everybody to better make it through an emergency like a large earthquake, etc., and we are asking everybody to please keep these items on hand in your dorm room, apartment, house or office:
- Flashlight and batteries
- Space blanket
- Gallon of water
- Trail mix/granola bars/nuts/dried fruit
- Rain poncho
- Two- to three-day supply of necessary medication
- Roll of TP
- Kleenex/sanitary supplies
- Book, needlepoint, knitting, Sudoku/puzzle book, magazines, etc. to occupy time if residence hall/apartment/office closed due to damage
- Hand sanitizer
- Notepad/pencil
Most of these items will fit in one- to two-gallon-sized Ziploc bags and can be kept in a desk drawer or closet. Security has also been posting other items to add to an emergency kit on our Facebook page and will add to that list in the weeks to come. The above items would help during a “shelter in place” emergency should there be no electricity, heat, or running water on campus.
While our hope is that these will never be needed, having them on hand will make living through a large emergency much easier.
Questions? Please contact security at 503-554-2090.

Students-around 800 of you will have parking permits awaiting you at Mail Services when you arrive on campus, but you will need to register your vehicle immediately in order to have your permit assigned and processed before school starts. Please do not wait until you arrive on campus to register your vehicle as you risk getting a parking ticket for not having a permit on your car.
If you are NOT bringing a vehicle to campus, you still need to log on to myGFU and click the box “not bringing a car” and this must be done by the Add/Drop date of Friday, Sept. 5.
Failure to do one of the two by the Add/Drop date will result in a non-refundable $40 charge to your student account, so please indicate your car status on myGFU now! Do you have an unusual car situation? Are you waiting for a license plate?
Please contact Nadine Kincaid at 503-554-2090 or e-mail nkincaid@georgefox.edu so we can help answer your questions and find a solution for you!

Roommates are needed for the upcoming school year.
It is a big house with new installations, three bedrooms, a big kitchen, a big living room, a laundry room and one bathroom. It has great insulation and is fully furnished.
The house is located directly across the street from the George Fox campus. My brothers moved to another city, so I’m looking for roommates.
The rent is $1,200 per month total, including utilities. Rent is divided equally between the people living in the house.
Any questions? Feel free to contact me.
