George Fox will welcome visitors from Indonesia today (Thursday) through the International Visitor Leadership Program, a U.S. Department of State-sponsored professional development program that works to create mutual understanding between citizens of the U.S. and other nations. Faculty and students are invited to meet our visitors from 3 to 4 p.m. in Roberts 117.
The IVLP program is focused on tolerance and diversity in education, and the project is designed to further the U.S. foreign policy goal in education cooperation. The visiting group includes Indonesian educators, administrators and policymakers involved in Indonesia’s Islamic education system.
Participants will examine how religious education institutions are mainstreamed in the United States and explore how religious and secular schools, along with faith-based and other civil society organizations, work together as a force for social harmony.
Questions? Contact Janelle Freitag at jfreitag@georgefox.edu.

To accommodate large building materials for the new dining hall and café, a portion of the parking lot behind the Roberts Center near the physical therapy wing will be fenced off for the next several weeks. The nearest available parking will be in the Le Shana lot one block to the north on Villa Road (at the corner of Villa and Fulton).
We understand the inconvenience, and hope to retreat the fence line as soon as possible. Thank you for your flexibility as we continue to improve the campus we share and enjoy.

Many congregations engage in some sort of social service delivery that addresses issues of poverty. However, what they do and why they do it varies greatly. Mark Mulder, an associate professor of sociology at Calvin College, will speak at George Fox to specifically examine the inability of white evangelicals to see and understand structural injustice as a perpetuating cause of poverty in the United States.
Join us at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, in Hoover 105. The event is free and open to the public. Mark’s visit is being made possible with support from the Center for Peace and Justice.

- Wednesday – Ten Commandments (Pentateuch vol. – Exodus 20:1-26)
- Thursday – Peter’s Confession (Gospels & Acts vol. – Matthew 16:13-23)
- Friday – Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes (Gospels & Acts vol. – Mark 6:33-44; 8:1-10)
- Saturday – Two Cures (Gospels & Acts vol. – Mark 5:25-43)
- Sunday – Pentecost (Gospels & Acts vol. – Acts 1:6-11, 2:1-47)
