Google is coming to campus and they want to meet our students! Reps from the company will be here Thursday, Oct. 8, in the Cap and Gown Room. Here is the schedule:
- 10:50-11:40 a.m. – Tech Talk: Innovative Ideas for Bringing the Next Billion Users Online
- 11:40 a.m – 1 p.m. – Lunch with Google Engineers (food provided)
Over a billion people live in parts of the world with severely constrained Internet access. Shortages of infrastructure, of literacy and of market incentives contribute to disconnecting these individuals from economic opportunities, education and political activity. But many people are refusing to settle for the status quo. This talk will explore some creative approaches to joining cyberspace that people have developed to overcome their technical challenges within their limited resources.
They’ll finish by talking about Google’s internships and full-time positions for technical students, as well as an opportunity for mock interviews.
Students may RSVP at this link. For more information, contact Kaitlyn Ragan in the IDEA Center (kragan@georgefox.edu).
