The Students for Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (S.I.D.E.) are hosting an exciting event on Saturday, Feb. 13. Side Quest will be a day dedicated to rapid innovation and creativity. If you want to have fun inventing for a day (and the chance to win some cash) you should participate in this event!

Registration for Side Quest is opening soon. Teams can have between three and eight members, two of whom need to be from each the College of Engineering and the College of Business. You can also register as an individual and we (S.I.D.E.) will try to place you in a team. However, registered teams have priority over individual registrations, so being on a team is more likely to guarantee your participation.

Get your team fast because we are limiting the event to 12 teams. Registration will proceed on a first-come, first-served basis. Teams and individuals that will be participating will be informed through an email after registration has closed (which is whenever we get enough teams, so it could be any day before Feb. 13).

It’s a competition among living areas, and the most spirited group will have pizza delivered to their dorm right after the games end. Check with your RA, AAC or commuter rep for face paint and poster-making supplies.

New to George Fox and have a car? Just log into MyGFU and click on the vehicle registration link underneath “GFU Resources” on the home page. You will need your DMV registration card in front of you, as it will ask you for information like the VIN number, owner’s information, etc.

After registering, you will receive an email with a link for a temporary permit. Print that out and place it on your dashboard until your parking permit arrives to the mailing address you specified.

If you brought back a different car than the one you registered last fall, scrape off your old permit and bring it to the security office with all of your new vehicle’s information. We’ll register the new one in the office and decommission the old one.

If your housing changed over break, and you moved from one side of the campus to the other, or moved off/onto campus, you will also need a new parking permit. Scrape off the old one and bring it to the security office and we can do the exchange in the office.

Need a temporary permit? Any security officer can do it 24/7, so please get one as soon as you arrive on campus with an unregistered car.

The faculty of the College of Christian Studies invites the campus community to join them for daily morning prayer weekdays this spring semester from 7:45 to 8 a.m. in Hoover 250 (note time change from fall semester).

Prayer format will alternative between liturgical and unprogrammed, with various members of the CCS faculty providing leadership. Come as often as your schedule allows. All are welcome.
