International Chapel begins this week

Tuesday, January 10th, 2017

International Chapel begins again Thursday, Jan. 12, and will continue each Thursday.

International Chapel is open to all students and is designed to have an international flavor. Its purpose is to help students understand God in a personal way, so our speakers share about a time in their lives when they found God clearly involved. Some have spoken on how they came to faith in Christ, or how God helped them in a time of crisis.

This week, Carol Van Wagner will speak on “Trusting God in Difficult Times.” She will share about her faith journey and challenge us to know that God is trustworthy – and that we can turn to him in times of need.

Carol’s life took a dramatic turn when, at age 27, just months after the birth of her son, she was suddenly widowed. Two years later she was off to Senegal, West Africa, as a missionary, along with her 3-year-old. After 15 years of service, she moved to California and taught special education until retirement, returning to Oregon, the place she’s always called home.

International Chapel is held at the International Center/Cultural House and begins at 5:30 p.m. with a simple meal, followed by our program, which begins at 6 p.m. with a 20- to 25-minute talk by our speaker. A five-minute Q&A time and 10-minute small-group discussion follows, and we end in small-group prayer at 7 p.m.

Chapel credit will be available.
