Somebody borrowed Security Services’ navy blue wheelchair for the undergraduate graduation last Saturday and failed to return it to the security office as agreed upon. If you know of its whereabouts, please let security know.
Thanks!

Plant Services is hosting its annual Phase II event. Items will be open for viewing in the Macy and Sutton basements today (Thursday) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and again tomorrow, Friday, May 5, from 8 a.m. to noon.
At the end of every school year, many students have good reusable items that they do not want to take home over the summer. These items often include blankets, clothing, kitchen supplies, small appliances, radios, room decorations, furniture, etc. In an effort to keep the dumpsters from overflowing and to be better stewards of our resources, Phase II was initiated. Many students have benefited from these items. For example, summer work-study students often find items they need for apartment living.
After students and staff view these items, the remaining items will be donated to the International Student Emergency Fund and other local charities.
Questions? Contact Dwayne Astleford at astlefo@georgefox.edu.

Sticking around for the summer? Want some healthy, local, organic produce? Want to get to know some Newberg community members and other George Fox students, faculty and staff? Stop by the community garden! Individual plots and communal gardening options are available. (Going on Juniors Abroad? Feel free to stop by when you return.)
We’ll be gardening together on Saturdays in May from 1 to 3 p.m., and continuing throughout the summer on a weekday to be determined. Stop by to check it out, or sign up for the whole summer. The membership fee is $10/student or $15/George Fox staff, faculty or community member. The garden is located on the corner of Crestview and Villa roads.
Want to be involved but can’t make it on Saturdays in May? Want to hear about future garden gatherings? Email Cherice Bock (cbock@georgefox.edu) to be put on the email list.

On Sunday through Tuesday, May 14-16, Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue will conduct training in the four structures that will be demolished to make room for the new Student Activity Center – the Gail and Kershner houses and the two Lewis apartments closest to Kershner House (Lewis 7-11 and Lewis 12-16).
The crew will not set fire to the structures or burn them down, but they plan to set off smoke bombs and chop holes in the walls and roofs. So, don’t be alarmed to see smoke coming from this area of campus during those days.
Questions? Contact Dan Schutter at dschutter@georgefox.edu.

Summer student workers, May Term students and employees: Here’s some information on where to park this summer.
You can park in the lots close to where you work or are taking classes, but we would ask you to be aware of what else is going on around campus, and when to park elsewhere! For example, Genesis is coming up next week, and all staff and students will need to clear out of the Wood-Mar/Hoover/Stevens lots to accommodate our newest Bruins and their families.
Similarly, the OSAA State Choir Competition begins this Thursday, and the Bauman and Wood-Mar lots will need to be kept open for our numerous guests. And when our camps and conferences begin in June, it will be a weekly switchover on which lots are occupied by our guests and which lots are open.
Please stay tuned to Security Services’ Facebook page and Daily Bruin announcements for information on where to park. Also, reserved spots and visitor rows are reserved 24/7, so please keep those spaces clear!
Thank you,
– Security Services

Thank you for submitting nominations for the CW Perry Award. Due to the large number of applicants, the decision was difficult. It is clear there are a large number of George Fox students making a tremendous impact on our campus and in the surrounding community.
The committee decided to offer Breanna Becker, Raeann Morrelli, Sierra Brambila and Tayla Yogi the award this year.

For students who will be in Newberg during the first week of summer break, there is a volunteering opportunity available on the first Friday in May.
Subterra, a local restaurant, will be hosting its “group soup” event in downtown Newberg, in which they give away free soup to anyone attending the First Friday art walk in an effort to make the event more accessible to those with limited resources.
Subterra needs anywhere from two to four George Fox students to help set up, serve soup, etc. The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 5.
If you are interested, please contact Zack Tewksbury at ztewksbury14@georgefox.edu.
