Are you interested in broadcasting? Do you love music or talking about things you like? If so, KFOX might be just what you’re looking for. We are George Fox University’s on-campus internet radio station, and we’d love to have you (yes, you) as a part of our team.

Do you enjoy singing and want to be a part of an a cappella group here on campus? Come out and audition for Quakers and Notes! Auditions will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the choir room (Ross 208) on Friday, Sept. 8. Be prepared to sing 30 seconds of a song of your choice!

First swing dance of semester is tomorrow night in FoxHole

The Swing Dance Club is hosting its first swing dance of the year tomorrow (Saturday). It will be in the FoxHole. The beginner lesson starts at 6:30 p.m., the intermediate lesson at 7 p.m., and the free dance at 7:30 p.m.

Come try out for the George Fox dance team! We’re hosting tryouts from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, in Wheeler 211.

We are looking for ambitious, energetic and dedicated ladies and gentlemen trained in jazz and hip-hop. Dance team will be performing at basketball game halftimes, supporting George Fox athletics, and engaging with the community in a variety of ways. Come join us!

Wear fitted athletic/dance clothing, dance shoes of your choice, performance-ready hair and makeup.

Faculty Chamber Recital plays in Bauman Auditorium Sunday

Join us for an afternoon of chamber music with George Fox strings faculty! We will be playing works by J.S. Bach, Beethoven and Kodaly this Sunday, Sept. 3, at 3 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium.

Rebekah Hanson will be playing violin and viola, and Sonja Myklebust will perform on cello. The event is free of charge.

The music department offers classes in learning how to play the piano! If this is something you’ve wanted to do but didn’t have the time, consider enrolling in MUSI 135 section A or B.

Section A is for beginners (no previous experience necessary); section B is for students who may have taken lessons but it’s been some time ago and you’d like to brush up. These two sections are meant for non-music majors.

The class is offered at one credit (good for an elective, too). There are still a few openings in both sections, so enroll today!
