Student employee position available: Information Services/Switchboard Assistant

Information Services is looking for a multi-talented individual to work closely with the information services coordinator. In this position, you will represent George Fox to those calling the university switchboard and to visitors and guests at the Information Desk.

This position will allow you to interact with a variety of people in our George Fox community as well as members of our surrounding community and around the world. You will have the exciting opportunity to make a difference while serving in this fun and engaging role as you provide above-and-beyond customer service to all you provide assistance to! You will be a key contributor in accomplishing the mission and vision of George Fox!

ASC selling $2 tickets to football game at Linfield; lunch and transportation included

This Saturday is the biggest game of the season for our football team until playoffs! Linfield is ranked No. 7 and George Fox ranked No. 19 in the nation. ASC is selling tickets to the game all this week in the ASC office for $2. With this ticket you get a bus ride to the game, entrance into the game and lunch provided at that game!

Make sure to get your tickets for William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Come join our theatre department for one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies.

Student tickets are free both Thursdays, Oct. 19 and 26. Bring your student ID to the door.

The show runs in Wood-Mar Auditorium Oct. 19-21 and Oct. 26-28 at 7:30 p.m., and will also include a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Oct. 29. Reserve your seat online and bring your George Fox ID with you to show at the door. You may also purchase additional tickets online. Tickets are also available for pick-up at the box office in the Bruin Store (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

Note: Closed captioning will be available for the final two shows, on Oct. 28 and 29.

Are you interested in studying business abroad? Faculty: Do you know students who are interested in doing so?

If so, swing by or encourage those students to swing by an International Business Institute information meeting today (Tuesday) at 4:30 p.m. in Stevens 208. If you are a global business major, an accounting major or anyone else interested in this fantastic opportunity to study business in international settings, this meeting is for you.

The International Business Institute is designed specifically with business in mind for a unique study abroad experience. The program incorporates the international dimensions of business and culture by integrating academic study with international field experience. The program is 10 weeks in length and includes periods of residence in key locations as well as coordinated visits and presentations in the major political and economic centers of Russia, The European Union, India and China.

Though the meeting begins at 4:30, stop by anytime during the session to learn about these exciting opportunities that build skills and competency in global business and cultural awareness, a critical need for today’s business careers.

If you have even the slightest interest in studying abroad come to an informational meeting today (Tuesday) at 6 p.m. in EHS 125 to learn about the different programs, the financial model for off-campus study and to how to apply.

Studying abroad is a great opportunity to learn in a new environment and culture, and also experience the world.

Disability History Exhibit on display in library through Thursday

What was life in the past like for persons with developmental and other disabilities? The Disability History Exhibit is a 23-panel collage that traces 3,000 years of a seldom-told history.

From antiquity to the present, the exhibit brings viewers through an illustrated timeline that shows society’s attitudes and how they affect the lives of people with disabilities. Viewers experience powerful feelings as they notice similarities between ancient practices and modern stereotypes.

The Disability History Exhibit will be on display in the MLRC through this Thursday, Oct. 19, as part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
