Join us at International Chapel today

Wednesday, December 6th, 2017

All are invited to our International Chapel today (Thursday) at the Intercultural Resource Center from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

This week our chapel speaker will be Seno Ezekiel Ariahadi. “Ari” will share with us Scriptures that are very meaningful to him from the Old and New Testament about the topic of “Our Identity.” He will also tell about his experience of growing up in a Muslim family in Indonesia, how his mother came to know Christ in a most unusual way, and how he followed her way of faith.

In 1992, Ari came to the U.S. to study, and he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international business from Concordia University. He is married with two daughters and lives in Newberg. For the past 13 years he has worked for a semiconductor company as a research and development technician. He attends a Vineyard church in Portland, where he and his wife serve as worship leaders and work with the youth of the church.

We will begin with a meal together, followed by our chapel speaker and some time for small-group discussion and prayer. It is a great time of coming together and being encouraged. All students are welcome! Chapel credit will be available.

Contact Alex Pia (apia@georgefox.edu) if you have questions.

Want to help out the hungry children in our community this Christmas?

Wednesday, December 6th, 2017

The Office for Spiritual Life has become aware of a need in the Newberg School District with regard to the upcoming holiday break. Forty-eight percent of students in the Newberg School District participate in the free lunch program, and 168 of the students experience homelessness.

Over the winter break, these children and families will have difficulty getting the meals that they need. The spiritual life office is collecting monetary donations and gift cards to local grocery stores and restaurants to aid our neighbors during the Christmas holiday. Please direct gift cards and/or donations to the Office for Spiritual Life before Dec. 15. Thank you!
