The finance office will be closed from Dec. 21 through Jan. 1 for Christmas break.
Deposits that need a December 2019 date must be brought to Heather in the finance office no later than 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20. If it arrives later, it will go into a deposit for January 2020.
Please look around your desk and file cabinet to see if there are any lingering items that need to go to the bank. If you are taking extra time off during the Christmas holiday, please send your deposits over before you leave.
If you have any questions about deposits, contact Heather Groenlund at ext. 2173.
The season of Advent is upon us, and the Office of Spiritual Life has partnered with faculty and students to publish the 2019 Advent Project. This daily reader is designed, written and created by people in the George Fox community and is intended to point us toward Christ as we await his birth.
Feel free to share it with friends, family and your faith community. Additionally, we will be sending a video at the beginning of each week to introduce each topic (hope, peace, joy and love). We hope it is helpful to you in some form as we celebrate this season of Advent together.
Contact Jamie Johnson (jamiej@georgefox.edu) with any questions.

We accept cash, a check or Venmo. Email Emily Davis at edavis@georgefox.edu with questions or to place an order.
This spring, an African-American history course will give you the opportunity to read deeply into the writings and lived experiences of African-Americans.
Beyond reading, you will learn through historical-role immersive exercises that will challenge and engage participants. No pre-requisites are required, and the course is open to students at all levels.
It will be taught by Paul Otto, coauthor, with Verdis Robinson (Campus Compact), of Bacon’s Rebellion, 1676-1677: Race, Class, And Frontier Conflict In Colonial Virginia. On Feb. 10, 2020, Robinson will give a public lecture for Black History Month, “‘One Like the Sea’: Frederick Douglass’s Global Search for Democracy and Equality, 1886–1887.” He will also be meeting with students in HIST 380.
For more information, please contact Paul Otto at potto@georgefox.edu.
Don’t forget that the Bruin Store buys back books year-round! Bring your student ID and the textbooks you no longer need, and if we can buy them, you will leave with cash in hand.
If you rented books for fall semester through the Bruin Store, the last day to check those books back in is Friday, Dec. 13. Please bring them to the Bruin Store (along with your student ID) during business hours to avoid any late, processing, or non-return fees.
Did you find the book you need but Amazon sells it for less? No worries! Just show us that the same book is being sold and shipped from Amazon, and we will be happy to match the price.
