Over 850 students have completed the National College Health Assessment already.  However, there are only 4 days left to complete the survey. If you haven’t already taken the survey, we’d really appreciate having you do so.

Just click on the link that was sent to your GFU email account and answer the questions. You get a spiritual formation credit just for completing the survey and are automaticcally entered into a drawing for great prizes.

The aggregate student body results are used for policy and programming decisions so it’s vitally important that we have responses from as many students as possible.  And remember, it’s confidential!

Are you ready for a new computer?
Would you like the opportunity to trade in your older CAC computer on a new Apple?

If this sounds like you, stop by the Service Desk between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. the week of March 17 and have the value of your current CAC computer estimated. A final appraisal will be performed in April, when the new CAC computers will be available.

The value of your current CAC computer can be applied toward the purchase of a new Apple CAC model.  You will pay the difference in cost.

To answer the obvious question: No, you cannot charge the difference to your student bill. You will need to pay with either cash, check or credit card. All payments for this will be handled in Student Financial Services in April when the computers become available.

For more details, please visit http://cac.georgefox.edu.

Do you know how many Spiritual Formation credits you have?

Friday, March 14th, 2008

There are a limited number chapel events remaining in the semester. Now is the time to take an inventory of where you stand in regards to the spiritual formation program.

Students can check chapel credits by logging onto Bruindata, Under the MY DATA tab, scroll to the bottom of the page till you find the STUDENT LIFE section. Click on the link chapel credits. From there you can monitor your credits.

(If you need additional assitance you can access ‘Bruindata Tutorials’ on the GFU website.)

If you find any discrepancies, you are to email me with your name, student ID and the dates and title of the chapel that you are missing. Please include the date of the chapel in question and a brief description of the content of the chapel.

Information about the Spiritual Formation program at GFU can be found in the Student Handbook.

Remember: Seniors with 93 credits or more (at the beginning of the semester) are automatically exempt. However, the software system may not have recognized your qualifications for exemption. Please contact me so that I can make an adjustment.

If you have a job that keeps you from attending chapel you MUST apply for exemption.

Please note: If you are involved in a small group these credits will be applied during finals weeks. However, you MUST fill out the proper forms and your small group must be documented with Campus Ministries. Please contact Mark Benjamin for more information.

Thank you for your assistance,

Jere Witherspoon
