Students in Gary Buhler’s (Visual Arts) Basic Design class are showcasing the results of a value painting assignment in the Murdock Learning Resource Center through Monday, Dec. 8. Using historically significant paintings, students created copies of these paintings demonstrating their knowledge of value distinctions. Students had to first identify the basic value patterns, then simplify them into five steps using only black, white, and light, medium and dark gray to re-create the paintings.
Also still on display are pieces from Tim Timmerman’s (Visual Arts) Sculpture class.
