Exodus Grad Fair scheduled Nov. 5 in Cap and Gown Room

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Attention seniors who are graduating in December,

Congratulations on your impending graduation! As you prepare to leave us, the university has organized a special event to help you tie up all the loose ends before graduation day arrives.

On Thursday, Nov. 5, we will host the Fall Exodus Grad Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Cap and Gown Room. There, you will be able to:

  • Pick up your cap and gown
  • Verify graduation with the registrar’s office
  • Conduct or schedule an exit interview with Financial Aid
  • Visit with Career Services
  • Connect with Alumni Relations
  • Get information on mail forwarding
  • Order graduation announcements
  • Get sized and order a class ring
  • Order alumni products

In short, all the departments you need to see before you graduate will be gathered in one location. This makes the exit process more efficient for both students and various departments. Complimentary food and drinks will be available, and there will be a chance to win great door prizes.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Andy Dunn at ext. 2543 or at adunn@georgefox.edu.

Auditions for short film set Saturday in Media Center

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Want to act in a comedic short film that will likely be seen at this year’s Fox Film Festival? “Adventures in Matchmaking” is a lighthearted short film that combines themes of misadventure, friendship and the often-hilarious situations that arise out of trying to play matchmaker.

Auditions for the film are scheduled for noon Saturday, Oct. 31, in the Media Center. The cast time commitment would be an initial read through and orientation meeting, as well as one to two weekends of filming (starting within the next two weeks). No previous acting experience is required to audition.

In preparation for auditions, contact Elizabeth Wallace (producer) at ewallace07@georgefox.edu to obtain a copy of the script. Those interested also need to print out a schedule (for the next month) and list any Friday, Saturday or Sunday conflicts.

We hope to see you there!
