Student Survey – please participate

Wednesday, December 11th, 2013

Survey number 1:

Here is a survey a group of us have been creating for the past couple of weeks. The purpose of the survey is to engage or peers and hear your understanding of diversity. What we hope to do with the results is hand it off to the administration so in their process of hiring the new Chief Diversity Officer a better understanding of the student body will be present.

Thank you for your time.

Need a Ride, Share a Ride – December 11, 2013

Wednesday, December 11th, 2013

1. I need a ride for myself and 1 other for Sunday, Dec. 22nd. Our flight leaves at 12:05 from PDX, so we’d have to leave Fox around 9, just in case. We’d also be more than willing to pay for the gas money to get up there. So if anyone is still around at that time, it would be more than appreciated. Hopefully someone will still be around 🙂 Looking forward to a reply.

Thank you so much,
Elisa Hutsell~

ehutsell12@georgefox.edu

2. My name is Bryan Neufeld.
My email is bneufeld12@georgefox.edu.
I would like a ride please from Newberg, (or perhaps Portland) to Pendleton, OR. I would leave and arrive on the 21st preferably arriving at noon.

3. Xin Wen
xwen13@georgefox.edu
Leaving from GFU Campus, Macy Dorm (I can meet my ride any where else on campus)
12/15/13 Sunday.

If there is any other space, I have 2 friends who also need a ride. Thank you!

Please note: Students are also encouraged to post their ride requests on the “community bulletin board” located outside of the Blue Zone store.

Artist Rachel King Rudeen opens thesis exhibit Tuesday

Sunday, December 8th, 2013

Come out to support one of our senior artists! Rachel King Rudeen will open her Senior Thesis Exhibit, entitled “Marrow,” tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5 p.m. in Minthorne Gallery. It will feature her ceramic works. The exhibit will run through Saturday, Dec. 21.

Following is Rachel’s statement about the show:

“Family gathers to eat, old friends catch up over coffee, a tea party bridges the gap between student and professor. Forming the marrow of these events are three constants: food and drink, the vessels that contain them, and the presence of people. It is for these occasions of coming together that I have a passion for creating quality, functional ceramic vessels.”
