Nominations for Support Staff Member of the Year and Administrative Staff Member of the Year for 2010-11 are due in HR on Monday, March 21.
If you have any colleagues you believe are deserving of this honor (and $500 gift), you have just a few days left to submit a nomination. Just describe the person’s unique “above and beyond†contributions to George Fox, its students, and/or its employees in the past year. Indicate what was done, who was impacted, etc. In other words, what makes this person stand out?
Other questions to also consider: How has this person encouraged or helped you, other employees, or students in the past year? What is it about this person’s job performance that impresses you? How has this person demonstrated Christian commitment, loyalty to GFU, and leadership skills at the university and the broader community in the past year?
Nominations can be submitted to Peggy Kilburg via e-mail, fax (503-554-2186), or hard copy (Campus box 6108), but they must arrive in HR by 5 p.m. on Monday.

Following board approval this past weekend, off-campus studies are now covered by tuition remission. Up until now, non-GFU off-campus studies have been excluded unless required for a major.
The employee handbook will be updated this week to reflect this change in policy.
The application process for off-campus studies for the 2011-12 academic year is now complete. The next opportunity to apply for this program will be January 2012 for the 2012-13 academic year – the same timeframe for requesting tuition remission. Tuition Remission requests for the 2012-13 academic year will be due Feb. 1, 2012.
If you have questions, contact Peggy Kilburg via e-mail at pkilburg@georgefox.edu.
